A couple of days ago, a man named Buford Furrow walked into the Jewish Community Center in Granada Hills in the L.A. area and opened fire on the children at the day care center. This man was heavily influenced by hate groups. Click here for the whole story.

I don't understand it. What is wrong with this country? Why do hate groups still exist?

Because people need something to focus their antagonism towards, and there aren't any wars anymore to provide this.

Many people unfortunately need scapegoats to explain their own problems, or the percieved problems of their community or nation. There are many groups that use religious or ethnic minority groups as such scapegoats, blaming the Jews or blacks or asians or whomever for their problems. Furrow was one of these, and not the only one to use violence against these groups.

Hate groups still exist because nobody has the schazdas to do Humanity a favor by taking them out.

I once had a dream that me and a buncha other guys rumbled through a nightime KKK cross-burning rally dressed in all black, driving quadrunners, and firing "assault weapons."

Problem is, this approaches being the very thing we're hoping to eliminate.. going after people because their ways are different. (However, since I believe a person's rights end at the point he causes harm to other people, going after the most violent types, like the ones Buford belonged to, - what a name! Buford! - would be justifiable as defense of others.)

Agreed.

Josh: I think they're getting to know each other a bit too well, if you catch my drift.
Me: Oh, I agree. I think they're spending too much time together, that is of course, if you catch my drift.
Asher: I think he's *ucking her, and he's cheating on his wife, and he's risking his marriage, and if his wife finds out about it she'll leave him and take their son, and his life will be ruined. If you catch my drift...
