Yesterday, the Israeli military attacked the Palestinian Authority compound in Ramallah, 9 miles north of Jerusalem. There were fatalies on both sides of the battle. Arafat, president of Palestine, is trapped with advisors in the compound.
My question is, Do you agree with the Israeli response? This attack is response to a bombing of a Passover dinner at a hotel at Netanya. Apparently, to the Israeli government mindset, this bombing violated the terms of the ceasefire.

Been waiting for this to appear either in a thread by itself or as a response somewhere else for a while now.
Suffice to say, this is typical Sharon, and while I'm sure certain people here will come out and say how this is a direct response that will help stop suicide bombings, it's pretty clear to me that the Bulldozer is attempting to humiliate his peace partner to score domestic political points for the small price of setting back the peace process perhaps immeasureably.
Here's hoping the Israeli public will see through this thug's boneheaded concept of peacemaking.

No more likely than them twigging that Arafat's much-vaunted control of the Palestinians as a whole doesn't stand up to serious scrutiny, and he could no more deliver on his ceasefire than he could get them all top convert to Judaism.
