I thought Osama hated Saddam...

Well, the enemy of my enemy, and all that. I don't think anyone rational ever said that it was impossible for the two to work together, merely that it was both unlikely (because, even if the subject of the original post pans out, the two had/have very different goals and worldviews) and rested on a very shaky set of assumptions.

I very much doubt they had a "relationship" like the one between Osama and the Taliban. Osama has called Saddam an "infidel" and a "despot," someone who invades other countries for oil and does not care about the Muslim cause. He has denounced Saddam like he does Bush, but wanted the Iraqis to fight because their enemy was "far worse."

BTW, why did the Iraqis just try to white-out Osama's name, or whatever? Why didn't they shed the documents, or burn them? Haven't they learned anything from the Enron execs?

Dammit Kosh, the least you could have done is let me have the pleasure of posting that. [Razz]

Take this one step further: Even if they had met, so what? Rummy met Saddam. OOh its the end of the world.
