I work in a city pizza shop, so almost by default, I work with a lot of foreign drivers - Egyptian, Pakistani, Turkish, Hungarian, Russians, etc.

Last night, I was counting out Mohammed Mohammed, one of three Egyptians who works for us. He looks at me after he collected his check-out paper, and asked, "Do all Americans view Arabs as tourists?"

I should point out that he has a rather thick accent and not the greatest command of the English language.

"Tourist?" I asked, miming a camera.

"Yes. Tourist."

Then it hit me. "Oh... you mean, terrorist?"

"Yes. Tourist."

After getting him to correctly pronounce the word, I told him, "No, not all Americans view Arabs as terrorists."

Anyway, not really relevent, but I thought I would post it anyway [Smile]

My old (German) landlord tried to say I could'nt have my Indian friend stay at my apartment via a memo to all tennants "because the current terror level I'm limiting any overnight visitors to one night and they have to provide me with a copy of their ID nad passport first".

I told him to shove his memo up his ass.

That same friend was refused entry to the HQ of the Broward County School System by a security guard- even though he was wearing his Kinko's uniform and driving the Kinko's van, the guard would'nt let him deliver his box of copies.

In-sane.

Not that he's an arab- he just looks the part, I suppose.

I used to work with an Indian guy who gets mistaken for Mexican. People just start talking to him in Spanish. At the same work place was another Philipino girl who gets mistaken for Indian.

Setting aside, for the moment, the question of how they can confuse Indians and Mexicans... Do they think every person of Hispanic descent can speak Spanish?

In grade school, they thought that every Asian person knew martial arts. Came in handy sometimes.

My best friend in high school was a white boy who happened to have a very dark complexion and would appear to be of Indian decent. We called him "Apu", he hated it. Anyway, there was a Marine recruiter at the school one day and he approached him and asked him how long he had been in the country for. My friend said "what the fuck are you talking about" in a clear MidWestUS accent and the recruiter proceeded to eat his own beret, mind you, he ate it with catsup.

Well, it's hispanics who mistake him for a hispanic. And it is Los Angeles, and although there's a lot of Indians in the university, there's not so many outside. Plus there are hispanics who speak little English, so if they thought they could speak Spanish to him, they would. I've also met very few English-speaking hispanics who can't also speak Spanish, so it's not altogether unreasonable.

I like mustard better anyway.....

I think some are sponoring terrorism, ones like my old boss at the hotel in Port Huron, he keeps sending thousands of dollars home to mom, but she died over a year ago. If mom is dead why keep sending her money????

HIS FATHAR IS USAMA BIN HUSEIN HE WORKS FOR AR-KAIDA!

the government said that buying drugs supports terrorism, but i think that's just a sly way to admit that the government sells the drugs and then funnels the money to terrorists.
