yeah, i need more posts because having over a 1000 just doens't give me enough warmth in my heart. [Roll Eyes] i'm assuming that all the other people who have started these kind of threads also were just trying to raise their post counts, right? take your boojum and go back to nursery school, troll.

Why is freak-boy calling me "Mary"?

Posted by CaptainMike XXIII (Member # 709) on :

a circle, rectangle, triangle, and a square are all two dimenional shapes.

adding the third dimension will make a circle into a sphere or a cylinder, a triangle into a pyramid or cone and will make a square or rectangle into a rectilinear solid. if the sides are equal on your rectilinear solid, it is a cube, otherwise it is a cuboid rectilinear solid.

but rectangles exist on a 2d plane and are therefore impossible except on a conceptual level in our three dimensional universe, so Edipis is theorizing the existences of some 2d concept.

unless we are dealing with a rectangular solid, hm?

which by the way, is the exact shape a DVD is packaged and shipped, and sold in. I wouldnt consider it worth its salt if it was just a CD on the floor.

but you are forgetting that the packaging is a discreet entity that is quite different from a dvd itself. no question was posed about the packaging. also, how am i "theorizing the existences of some 2d concept"? since, by your own admission, a rectangle or square cannot physically exist in our "3d universe" (that is a gross simplification, and we don't really live in a merely 3 dimensional space, but that is the term you used so i will continue to use it), would i not be 100% correct by saying that a dvd, which is a physical and very possible object in our reality, is not a square or rectangle? also, you are the first person here to mention the term "circle". not once did i write that a dvd was a circle, so you are attributing things to me that can be demonstrably proven that i did not write. maybe you should put down the bottle and get some sleep, Mikey.
