Again, not bad. A retread of Voyager's "Bliss", but I'm willing to give that a pass since the target audience is probably unfamiliar with Voyager.

The Protostar crew investigates a Class-M planet in "the Hirogen system". So I guess we are in the Delta Quadrant. But what is "the Hirogen system"? There's no sign of the Hirogen here. Is this supposed to be their home system? If so, how would anybody know that? Haven't they been nomadic for a very long time?

It's official: I need Gwyn's sword-thingy in STO. [Razz]

Unexpected cliffhanger. Gwyn contacts the Diviner and now he's on the way. She also tries to steal the Protostar, but the planet's super-organism grabs a hold of the ship and forces it to crash back down.

I was *not* expecting a cliffhanger! Very intriguing.

The plot is derivative but letting the characters explore their desires is still a good idea, after all they're still just figuring out what they want to do after escaping from prison. And it’s still better than doing “The Naked Now”. [Wink]

Also interesting that Holo-Janeway can be reprogrammed even more easily than The Doctor could.

Why does Gwyn need to know how to run a starship? Why does Zero have such a hard-on for that engine? Why does a ship as advanced as Protostar have no crew, apparently no transporters, & a training hologram for cadets that's heavy on fuzzy logic? Is this really Dal's story, or is it Gwyn's? Or...is it Murf's?
