Sure his ideas are not well thought out. But that does not give anyone the right to what I see as total character flaming.
To whomever said that his ideas belong in the Designs, Artwork, Creativity, forum, they belong here. This forum IS designed to talk about the next Star Trek Series and movies.
Dudes, cut it out. If this continues, I will not only snip and edit the posts, I will also e-mail a copy of them to Charles himself. I hate to do it, but Darkstar is welcome to post his ideas without the threat of Character Assassination.
That is all.

Clarification: When I meant his posts, I was looking at his posts in his last 10 days. His other posts before these really do have good ideas in them.

My new year's resolution is the same as last year's: 1024x768.
I must say his ideas are not that bad, not very outworked, but...
If i were you Darkstar, i would compile them and try to make a descent storyline out of it.
I'm trying to built my own StarTrek series myself for over 5 years by now... and i'm still not finished yet constructing it...
OH btw, the idea for my series premise was raised by someone...
Its about the collapse of the Romulan Empire.
Just for the credit, who was it anyway?
And please, stop to humiliate Darkstar! If you've problems with his ideas state it in a reasonable fashion.
It is really unnerving to read something like that!

"You might want to post your series ideas in the "Design, Artwork, and Creativity" forum instead of the General forum. "Series V" is going to be whatever TPTB make it. Make your own name for your series and post it at DA&C."
I wrote this post immediately after giving him some constructive criticism about how to write his story ideas. And I made the above suggestion for exactly the same reasons TSN just mentioned.
As for my post about counting his total posts, I can definitely see where someone would take offense at how I worded it. I certainly did not intend it to be taken that way, and I apologize if it was.

First, maybe. I know he had a series involving the collapse of the Romulan Empire too.

Only fooling, kid. Don't think we don't want you around, just. . . try to write your posts a bit better, OK? Round here, presentation is everything. I'm horrible to everyone, but I do it in a polite well-written way.

Ah, don't listen to me. It's 4am here and I just finished watching Bill Paxton and Billy-Bob in "A simple plan". I'm so fucking depressed now.
But I agree, we shouldn't be so intolerant just because there isn't a red seal on every disposition.

I have nothing against what Darkstar says. I think what may be more of a 'problem' is the way he tells things.Just my opinion...
Umm.....Okay, he's got a problem with the way Darkstar tells things. So do I. Apparently this is offensive in such a way that he "needs to watch his mouth", which you put, quite crassly, into the conversation.
He didn't call anyone a 'Cum Slurping Racoon Fucking Herpes Infested Homeless clown whore', he said something of little offensive value at all.

Tahna's simply trying to point out that while it's okay to attack Darkstar's ideas, it's not okay to attack Darkstar himself. In other words ...
Saying, "Darkstar, your idea that Voyager goes 500 ly is interesting but can you please back it up with some logic because as far as I can see you just made it up?" is okay, while
"Darkstar, you $^^$# stop making stuff up and $W^#% yourself" is not.

Tahna told Altair to watch his mouth, after all Altair did was point out a legitimate problem with Darkstar's method of communicating. While I don't necessarily agree with Vogon's diagnosis, his analysis is legitimate in the absence of other evidence.
Care to clear this up, Tahna?
