Does anyone have TNG scripts and can answer the following questions?

1.) In "Yesterday's Enterprise" 2 officers were called over the comm-system. I think it was Ensign Thomas and Lt. Barry. Any confirmation for that in the script?

2.) What was the name of the admiral mentioned by Picard in the episode "Menage a Troi".

While I don't have the time to read the whole "Yesterday's Enterprise" script, I searched for "ensign" and only got Wesley. I searched for both "Thomas" and "Barry" and got nothing. Looks ad-libbed, or added later. However...

"Menage a Troi"

PICARD: I've been in touch with Admiral Hahn at Starfleet Academy.

Thank you very much for looking.

For "Yesterday's Enterprise," I would have been very surprised if the ambient background sounds were actually scripted. Usually that kind of detail is reserved for the production process, not decreed by the writers, unless it's important for the story.

Does the script mention the name of the Bolian officer in DS9 The Adversary?

Dr. Selar was called over the comm in YE at one stage.

That's a given.... [Roll Eyes]

All the answers to this thread regarding "Yesterdays Enterprise" can be found here.

quote:
For example, in Yesterdays Enterprise closed captioning caught the following:

"Fleet formation briefing in Main War Room at 1500 hours."

"Dr. Joshua Kim report to Station Ops."

"Ensign Thomas, report to Combat Information Center, Ensign Thomas, CIC."

"Dr. Salar (Selar), report to null-g ward, STAT"

"Lt. Barren...."

and

"Triage Team Two to Main Shuttle Bay"

The Bolian was simply called "Bolian", he was a one-time character played by 'Jeff Austin', who only had one other role in "ST:Voyager".

Closed Captioning is often mistaken in my experience. I believe the first line was for Dr. Kim to report to 'Cetacean Ops'. I think there's a reference in one of the manuals somewhere.

I thought I heard the other as 'Lt. Barrett', a reference in-joke to the voice of the Enterprise computer.

I'm not sure I understand why a battleship in a war would have a 'Cetacean Ops'...they are fighting Klingons not dolphins...

I think it was mentioned in another thread that modern Starfleet ships carried dolphins, etc., to help with navigation. Dr. Kim may have been the ship's vet.

"Cetacean Ops" is correct. IIRC, there was an article or a discussion on-line at TrekBBS with Mr. Steinback in which he admitted to adding this line.

No, I think you're confusing him with John Steinbeck, author of "Stein Beck II: The Wrath of Grapes". [Big Grin]

Umm, yeah, well...I was referring to the killer dolphin episode...or that goes without saying...or so I was attempting to imply.

BAH! You fool, lets see you think of another 'evil' cetacean savvy reference...other than the craptastic movie "Orca"...

They were ill-tempered, to be fair.

"Captain Ahab has to go hunt his whale".

Or...

"Johna! You died like you lived...inside a whale".

*ahem* It's spelled "Jonah". I ought to know.
