Does anyone know the break down of how many slips of gold press latinum is equal to a bar? Also, how much is a bar really worth? I mean, how many bars would you need to be considered rich, or what does one equate to today's money?

I really, really doubt they came up with any sort of conversion chart. Especially since half the time they were buying things that have no equivalent today (such as Self-Sealing Stem Bolts).

BEER, you moron. That's the true value of a bar! Man, you had me so aroused ...

So is watching Cheers the equivalent of hard-core pornography for you, Jeff?

Well, I think one DS9 episode did give the ratio of slips to strips to bars, or whatever. It was non-decimal, but that's all I can remember.

Certainly, there was no indication of a conversion rate to late-twentieth-century US dollars, or anything.

No, but walking into a liquor store does give me a hard-on.

Thing is - Bars in the early seasons used to be the 'standard' and then we get strips then slips which were less and having BARS was like being pretty well off... and then we got BRICKS.

I think we first heard of "slips" in Family Business - didn't we?

Bricks might have reared their head in "Business as Usual"?
slips < strips < bars < bricks

Bricks? Never heard of that. Are you sure?

100 Slips = 1 Strip
20 Strips = 1 Bar

Bricks were first mentioned in "Who Mourns for Morn?".

Ah, haven't seen that in along time.
