According to her biography at the IMDb, Louise Fletcher died a little over a week ago of a heart attack. She's probably most famous for playing Nurse Ratchett in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest; she's probably most famous to us for playing Kai Winn Adami in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I can't find any news articles about it online. StarTrek.com doesn't have anything about it either. Has anyone else heard about this or has IMDb made a mistake?

Couldn't find any mention of her dying. You'd think EW would have a little blurb.

I know, especially since she is an Oscar winner. I'm leaning towards this being a mistake at the moment.

Woah....there goes the DS9 supporting cast.

Must be a mistake...though it is quite odd that the IMDb would post something like this. Looks like one of their editors made an error, or is about to get fired and decided to mess with people's minds...

Fletcher: "Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated..."

Really? Good.
She's a heck of an actress- you can really hate her on DS9.

Well, actually, she didn't say that. Perhaps I should have ended with this:

"I can see it now: Fletcher will say 'Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.'"

It's possible that her family talked to the IMDb and they put up the death date then, but why would the family not tell the media?

Mabye the media was busy with other stories...hurricanes and such.

Still, you'd think plsces like TRek BBs would have droned on and on about it...they seem to be deifing James Doohan.

CNN.com has nothing on her (alleged) death.

While not the actress, this Louise Fletcher's stoy is pretty funny.
I love BBC stories. [Smile]

Update: her death date has been removed from the IMDb. Everyone can breathe a sigh of relief.

Particularly her.
