Just saw they included James Doohan in their "Tribute to those who have passed on in the past year".

I hadn't realised Peter Boyle had died - when was that?

I didn't watch "Everybody Loathes Raymond" I mainly liked him in that X-Files episode "Clyde Bruckman's Repose".

I think that is what it was called.

Ellen DeGeneres did a really good job. She was quite funny - and I was never a real big fan of her comedy.

Jerry Seinfeld was funny.

GO PAN'S LABYRINTH!

Yay for Helen Mirren too!

They didn't do Deforest Kelley, either. Reason being that they're more TV personalities, and despite their legendary status in our fandom, neither had really been in significant roles (or in the public eye) for quite some time.

What do you mean EITHER - they DID have Scotty/Jimmy Doohan in the 'tribute' it had Kirk saying to Scotty "Thank you Mr. Scott".

They also DID do DeForrest Kelly the year he died. I remember there was a big clap too. A big clap for both. Now I can't remember though whether they had just an Emmy's tribute, or both an Oscars and an Emmy's tribute to DeForrest Kelly - but I know one of them did (or both) and I think it's great that they did.

No, they didn't do DeForest Kelley at the Oscars. You're mis-remembering.

"You're mis-remembering"

Yes I probably am - I stated that though. I couldn't remember if it was Emmys or Oscars or both.

But the question of the "Either" statement still stands. Maybe it should have been an 'although...' [Smile]

I mis-typed. Yes, they did do Doohan, but not Kelley. I remember people asking why not at the time. Maybe at the Emmys, but I didn't watch it that year.

Jane Wyatt was in there also.

I could've sworn that Doohan died in July the year before last, making his inclusion into this year's montage...somewhat after the fact.

Well be careful that page supposedly hasn't cited its sources.
