I'm watching the Bluray of Star Trek casually (I'm going to go thru it to spot all the easter eggs later) but I happened to spot the Vulcan ship from First Contact inside the Narada shortly after Spock steals back the Jellyfish.

I looked a little closer, and spotted multiple ships, a Klingon BOP, a TOS Romulan Warbird, a second Vulcan ship, and something shaped like the Defiant...

How is it you have a bluray copy when it's not even released yet on video in the US?

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

That is pretty goddamn lame.
Why would...
Fuck it. It's not worth even trying to make an explanation for that movie.

Would you mind making some screencaps of the Starfleet ships? I'm thinking particularly of the spacedock stuff, that shot of the Enterprise with the Newton, Defiant and third ship, and wreckage of the Farragut/Mayflower/whatever.

Maybe Nero has been doing some pirating during the decades between when he arrived and when the movie takes place. Or maybe it's some kind of equipment that just... happens... to be shaped like an old Vulcan ship.

jASON.... Jason... Dearest Jason (PutDowntehKnife)

Just because you see it, doesn't mean it was actually there for real (because, if that rule is followed, a whole REALLY fucking big bag of shit is gonna be flamed with the Falcon from SW in First Contact... [Big Grin] )

Well I'll be damned...though I note two of the objects you circled actually look like the Vulcan ship.

So they have shuttles with the same engine layout as a Vulcan design, that's great. It's also the first bit of design from the TNG-movies inserted into the new continuity, after only having seen TOS-inspired stuff. This is a detail that 95% of the audience wouldn't pick up on, they did it for the fan base.
Those large pylons and things in the middle of the picture, deeper into the hold, are they platforms or ships held in suspension?
The "Defiant"-looking ship in the right of the picture looks like one of the romulan shuttles seen on DS9.

technology that is destroyed now, one supposes... still nice easter eggs. *whips WES* MORE SHIP Pics! Now bitch, now! *whips* [Big Grin]

Assuming that those are indeed FC Vulcan Landers, and that they're just easter eggs and technically not supposed to be there, does the Narada have any shuttles at all? Does it even have transporters?

Posted by Guardian 2000 (Member # 743) on :

I think I started the "does the Narada even have transporters?" thing the other day, but Spock apparently does say Nero "beamed me here" to the surface of Delta Vega.

Then why bother with..I mean it's dumb to...but...
(explodes)

I can probably get a few more caps this weekend. Requests?

Um, the ships that depart to fight the Narada.

The shuttles the Kelvin launches.

Pics of the Enterprise firing.

Do you have access to deleted scenes? If so, the Klingon "warbirds." (Not to mention the Kobayashi Maru test where you see them too.)

*drools* *whips wes* More, fucker! More!

A most distrubing post.

Indeed. However, I direct you to this page!
Great site. So, my request would be for zoomins on the spacedock ships, both at the station and the departing fleet. And, more caps from the inside of the Narada.

*thwap thwap thwap*!

Weeeeeeeeee! (thank you!)

Wow, Kelvin dumped a crap ton of debree after the secondary hull broke in half... (page 3)

2 Ent looking on each far sides (Though they more remind me of Akagi class patrol ships from FASA) and 1 kinda miranda without the roll bar...
3 distinct classes of vessels (old miranda-looker in the center (with 3 warp nacelles)

http://reboot.trekcaps.net/caps/Star_Trek/ariane179254_StarTrek_2933.jpg

this one (the final hull cleared) was the rollbar-less miranda-lookie (because the majority of the primary hull is round, based on where teh class number is at (visable 162...)
http://reboot.trekcaps.net/caps/Star_Trek/ariane179254_StarTrek_3408.jpg

you know, even though there could be more aquired (frame by frame is what i think we were asking) but with just that site alone, could warrant a new thread for discussion. me alone has many many q's just from those pics (TU Ariane!)

WES. concentrate on the arrival to Vulcan 1st, i suggest. looking at some of the pics, and placement of hull numbers on certain locations, i think i see gaffs (especially the last ship cleared. you see 162 on one section but did that hull rotate fast enough that the ncc section of that ship was the part that contacts the port nacelle of jj-Ent? it sure looks like in previous pics that, that portion of the hull was destroyed?)

Excellent find, Starship Freak!

So there are indeed three distinct Starfleet vessel types besides the Enterprise: The Three-naceller, the two-nacelled-two-secondary-hulled ship, and the circular saucer-two-nacelled ship (but without a rollbar as was depicted in the concept art for the Defiant).

There's also some good pics of the Kobayashi Maru and Klingon ships.

Notice how before the Vulcan Fleet ships jump to warp, the aft ends glow bright(blue). Kinda like the nacelle grilles on 24th century starships in the Primeline.

I´d say at least 4 starfleet vessel-types, judging by the spacedock scene. There are two rollbar-vessels in that scene, one to the right, on the second "mushroom", and one on the left, and that one does not have those circular "nodes" on the nacelles.

I'll get some of the Vulcan Debris field next time. Having a really busy weekend!

These new ships have no soul.

There is no fucking way that ship is 700 meters long.
The inset bridge does not work with that...

TU, Wes. Beautiful pics... yesh. Go get laid. that's more important (it is!)

LOL ahhhh...

hmm... Ok, the fleet still uses design estatics for Kelvin era ships (the smiley face Impulse grills, nacelles, raised lip instead of tappered primary hull, etc).

that could be because they where creating these ships at the same time they were working on the mesh for Kelvin and it was intentional to keep the JJ-Ent different. (and since this is the beginning, there wasn't supposed to be many connies, still being built. The Conny herself is probably elsewhere. that fleet mentioned)

And there's no way a 20 foot tall robot like Megatron can transform into a small, handheld pistol (that Soundwave had to shoot, for crying out loud) and yet...he did. [Smile]

Maybe because they're kit-bashes of the Kelvin.

or simply compentories of the time. ALL of those ships in the fleet used Kelvin components (yeah kitbashs) but still fellow classes

Somewhat off-topic... Thought I'd post a possible production error. Kirk and Bones are seen boarding a shuttle (the Gilliam) here:

http://reboot.trekcaps.net/caps/Star_Trek/ariane179254_StarTrek_2721.jpg

It's the rounder type of shuttle, as the low-slung engines and the red hull stripes attest. Then just a while later, they are seen peering through the side window of a flying shuttle, this time of the squarish type.

http://reboot.trekcaps.net/caps/Star_Trek/ariane179254_StarTrek_2792.jpg

The side windows and the red stripes definitely look like the squarish type, compare here:
