I have an idea. At some time late in the Enterprise NX-01's life, it gets renamed, for whatever reason, to Dauntless. ah HA!

Hah! Love it.

With how things have been going ...

I wouldnt be surprised if the "I'm not Gonna Like it No Matter what and you cant make me" people will find that even that violates some law of fan established canon Trek...

On a Side Note I'm watching Free Enterprise , In my opinion one of my new favorite movies. I love how this guy lets a fictional show sabotage his life , its so true in some peoples cases , I can certainly relate to letting Trek ruin some great chances in my personal life.

It should be named USS Akira.

It's that damn Rasmussen's fault. He got the Akira specs from the Enterprise data banks and some how got back to the 22nd century and sold them to Starfleet for a high profit.

Lol

Haven't we done the Dauntless argument already? About 50 times?

Posted by Matrix (Member # 376) on :

New argument! The USS Akira is actually the refitted Enterprise call NX-01!

Anger, then denial, then...

Acceptance?

Posted by Treknophyle (Member # 509) on :

No. Medication.

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

Well, I'm still particularly found of this:

Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

Hey! Meds do you GOOD, man. Meds do us ALL good.

In fact, I think I'll take some right now. THAT'll show you all.

Mark

Tell me about it, Mark. If it weren't for my medication, I'd think I was a 11 year-old Girl Scout trying to sell gingerbread cookies.

I dunno. I don't like her, but, I like her. An uttterly human internal contradiction. I think it's an okay-to-good modification on a pre-existing design, but perhaps would have fared better in another venue. Certainly more of a plagiarism of design than any other starship I've ever seen, but she looks good.

Posted by Nimrod (Member # 205) on :

Of course she looks good, the Akira design is wonderful! And it was a good idea to swing the nacelles upward, I did that to the Akira years ago, just like turning the Galaxy saucer 90 to make a small battleship.
But other than that, it's just cosmetic details like hull texture, lanterns and shiny metals, like an expansion pack...

And if they haven't changed the sfx and vfx for the weapons because they thought "no one would notice" then I will be a bit pissed.

Maybe he's the time-traveling baddie from the future?

Didn't you guys know, that the borg fuc up the timeline in ST:FC. The crew of the enterprise left the plans to the akira to cochrane.

not impressed.

Maybe Picard should have kept a better eye out on Lily Sloane when she was onboard then.

Posted by HappyTarget (Member # 670) on :

Maby Troi spilled the beans on the akira when she got sauced at the bar!? I mean she was pretty pickled and was liable to say anything, not realising how she was polluting the timeline at the time. Just my $.02.

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

Yes. I'm sure Ms Deanna "What's a warp-core breach?" Troi happened to know the tecnical specifications and design of the Akira off by heart.

"Is it the one with the saucer?"

Posted by HappyTarget (Member # 670) on :

I guess my sarcasam is lost on some people.

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

Funny. I have the urge to say the same thing.

Smilie.

Posted by Wes1701E (Member # 212) on :

I'm wondering. What makes you the Deanna is stupid? For all we know, the Akira could be her favorite ship...

Posted by The_Tom (Member # 38) on :

The only people I could ever concieve of getting drunk and talking about starship design, are, well, here...

Posted by Vogon Poet (Member # 393) on :

You are dead wrong. No-one here would ever conceive of drinking that evil alcohol stuff.

However, when myself, Orion, Liam and Monty have got together in the pub, the topic of starship design has come up once or twice. . .

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

I've had that evil alcohol stuff. I much prefer mixed drunks over beer (I know, I know).

The last time I got drunk, I talked to the cute bartender for about five minutes about the design on the refit Enterprise. She was not all that impressed. But my sense of humor had her erupting with laughter. Then when I asked her out, I found out she was a lesbian.

What were we talking about again?

Posted by Vogon Poet (Member # 393) on :

I have no idea. Go on, what happened next? 8)

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

"I'm wondering. What makes you the Deanna is stupid?"

You mean apart from watching her? I dunno, but the phase "What's a warp-core breach?" does spring to mind. Way to pay attention, Lt Commander Troi.

"Then when I asked her out, I found out she was a lesbian."

I can't believe you fell for that one.

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

Mixed drunks, eh? Is that when you set a huge blender in the ground, wait for them to stumble into it, then turn it on? That would be funny. :-)

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Tim. I meant mixed drinks.

[Edit: Damn it! Made the same mistake in my correction!]

At least, that's what she told you. Wait until after you've done her to bring up starship design, and I bet you'll meet fewer lesbians.

Dudes, she was a lesbian I tell you! She was! I got to meet her girlfriend, in fact. She was cute, too.

But the next time I go to a bar, I will not talk about starship design until after sex. Does that make everyone happy?

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

It depends on whether you leave the bar before commencing with the sex.

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

I just can't win with you, can I?

Posted by Stingray (Member # 621) on :

Was it good for you?

You know what's always bugged me about the Constitution refit? Hello? Hellooo? You forgot your underwear...

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

Actually, I doubt I make it that far, Stingray.
