Um, yeah.

Haven't seen it myself, but apparently we see VFX of the Enterprise both jumping to warp and being fired on by another ship, along with the transporter in use and a pile of dialog. I imagine screencaps will be forthcoming shortly.

Note the wings of the shuttle sliding out.

On the tech side, it's clear now that the shuttlebay is aft of the saucer centerpoint, with downwards doors - not, for example, below either of those dorsal "landing pads" that seem to flank the bridge. Which still leaves a lot of that greebling on the aft half of the saucer unaccounted for. It's not shuttle launch doors. It's not impulse engines. Is it shuttle recovery doors?

Nice to see so much of the shuttle hindquarters dedicated to engines. More realistic that way. I wonder what the landing legs look like extended, or if the craft even has any.

Also, the spacewalkers on the spacedock scaffolding seem to have far bulkier backpacks than those of the "hero" spacesuits. Nice to see some variation, also in colors.

The gas giant battle seems way cool, quite unlike the colorful DS9 "Starship Down" scenes and more like a naval battle under storm clouds.

Nice. Curious how much it looks like the Centaur in that first pic. . .

I knew the rear view of the ship reminded me of something... It indeed looks a lot more like the Centaur than the Akira class.

About the cutouts in the upper saucer hull flanking the bridge: in the newer picture of the ship that they have posted over at StarTrek.com, it looks like those cutouts serve no purpose other than shining a light onto the hull. There are no doors or greebling at all in that cutout. Just a light bulb and some yellow stripes. I don't think the original TV Guide/USA Today picture showed anything there either. So we don't know what the heck those do either.

Also, as much as I was a fan of the rusty-beige color of the hull from the TV Guide/USA Today picture, I'm glad the color of the hull has reverted back to a tradition shade of gray. From these pictures, it also looks like the rough texture of the outer hull has been subdued as well.

I like it!

The shuttles have fold-out wings, I see.
And the spacedock structure seems to be circular.

And a really REALLY far-fetched positive thing is the spacedock 'tube' looking faintly like a Daedalus era design

They're really going for CGI with this series!
The alien city scene (Rigel?) somehow feels the same way as the "The Cage" Rigel matte painting.
And I notice that there are hardly any simple black starry backgrounds. All the action was taking place inside some nebula-ish environment.

I thought that looked like the centaur because it was a grainy vidcap, just like every picture of the centaur i have.

I just downloaded the promo... screw the millisecond ship shot, look at the rest of the effects! I didn't catch the last two seasons of Voyager, which allegedly had some bad-ass effects work, but this promo makes the other Star Trek series look like claymation. I particularly like the "paratrooper" scene. Archer's so-called "Matrix-style" phaser dodge is pretty cool, too. I'm also very impressed with seeing the ship in motion in the "five-day" countdown promo. Even if, as many fear, Berman and Braga destroy continuity, I'd watch for the eye-candy alone.

I liked the shot of them shooting up that elevator shaft on some kind of anti-grav platform...looks very groo-vay!

I don't know if anyone's noticed this yet, but, um, behold the almighty letterbox!

Yeah, whats up with that?

Widescreen HDTV? *drools*

Didn't B5 do that too? I heard that they filmed everything in widescreen, but framed the scenes so that all the important info would fit on a TV screen too.

Aban "loves the widescreen" Rune

I've noticed a few things watching the "Event" promo and comparing it to the script... probably others have caught some of this, too.

$$$SPOILERS$$$
$$$SPOILERS$$$
$$$SPOILERS$$$

(1) It probably goes without saying that the landscape at 0:07 is the Rigel X trading complex.

(2) Look at the left vessel at 0:13... it's a Suliban cell ship ejecting an inverted depth charge. Note that cell ships apparently come in a variety of sizes and shapes, mostly hexagonal polyhedrons.

(3) The "asteroid field" at 0:14 are actually cell ships, perhaps the scene in which Archer breaks up some of the Helix.

(4) At 0:15 we see the depth charge exploding.

(5) The "paratrooper" around 0:18 is a Suliban pilot ejecting from his cell ship, which is being grappled by Enterprise's, um, grapplers.

(6) There is a shot of Enterprise from behind, at 0:20, floating near the Suliban Helix and being fired on by a cell ship.

Not quite. They apparently did the first season like that, and then filmed the rest regularly. Sci-Fi channel then proceeded to chop the top and bottom off of the rest of the eps to make them look widescreen when they weren't. This sucks.
