Good god, I'm feeling sick after reading this article! All I can do is pray that someone's playing an awful practical joke on us... except that TrekToday is one of the most reliable sources when it comes to upcoming episodes in the production pipeline.

I suppose we all saw it coming... but still, the knowledge that they're actually going to WRITE this story is just sickening!

This is a joke.. right?

Actually, it may be a good thing. We've been seeing some great episodes and I'm sure the powers that be, are getting good feedback. having this drek, stand out, as REALLY BAD, will make the point that these two shouldn't be allowed to write anything to do with Trek.

Well, that's something to look forward to. Not.

The title of this thread makes it sound like they've been doing something else for the past three years.

While I'm all for the idea of seeing T'Pol all hot and bothered, I can't imagine this being done that well or having any kind of solid contribution to the continuing storyline.

All we need now is for Hoshi to put her bid in for Tucker - and then we have a GWFWF - Galaxy-Wide Female Wrestling Federation -- *opts for front row seats!*

*licks his chops at a T'Pol/Hoshi match*

Well, I don't know. The Wild West episode sounds worse.

Well, that at least has some link to Star Trek (in the shape of TOS's straaaange Hodgkin's Law of Parallel Development). We might even get some sort of explanation for the "And the Children.." planet.

What's wrong with the explanation that was given in the episode?

Posted by Harry (Member # 265) on :

Well.. I seem to remember there was actually no reason given for that planet to be an exact copy of Earth. Was there?

Posted by Timo (Member # 245) on :

Uh, you mean the "Miri" planet then. Nope, no explanation given.

The Valentine episode is something of a first. I mean, Halloween episodes are a Trek tradition, but did we ever get a February "theme month" before?

Okay... this COULD be done well. It WON'T be. But it could be.

More on Episode #15:

So the Expanse was built by an extra-dimensional faction, which is somehow also involved in the Temporal War.

You know, they should ask the Waschowski brothers to direct the next movie, and go completely nuts on this transdimensional timewarping war.

On the apparent T'Pol/Tucker hot-lovin'-a-thon, I agree with Lee. You know, I agree with Lee so much that it's worth repeating.

Granted, I've missed all of season three so far with the exception of the premiere, but this seems so badly out of character for the both T'Pol and Tucker. T'Pol lusting for a human? T'Pol jealous because of a human? Tucker reacting passionate for a Vulcan? I really don't think there is a reasonable explanation for this. Sure, they will have spent two and half years serving together, but I can't imagine the mutual animosity calming to the point in such a length of time for T'Pol to jealous of Tucker's interests and Tucker to jump into bed with her at the first chance.

I can see Tucker jumping into bed with her, but not falling in love with her. Not after the tension between the two. And I definitely can't see T'Pol becomming jealous or developing an attraction. Unless perhaps the Expanse is effecting her emotional control. Or perhaps her experience aboard the Vulcan ship had a more extensive effect on her.

They were kind of building up to it with those erotic massage neural therapy scenes. Although they suddenly paired her to Archer for "Twilight".

I guess it's better than the pointless out of the blue Seven-Chakotay relationship.

I think that T'Pol admires Archer in some fashion, and that admiration only turned into something else in "Twilight" because he essentially sacrificed himself for her.

I guess we could do some heavy reading-between-the-lines and assume that, whereas Tucker might not have initially resented being passed over for Captain in favour of someone who isn't even Starfleet (or human), he might well have come to do so especially if he questioned her command decisions as often as he appeared to.

I don't know. The synopsis sounds pretty cliched, but they tend to do that regardless of what they're actually synopsizing. I mean, I can easily see myself recoiling in horror at the actual episode, but, I guess I do not get this gut-level distaste being displayed here.
