Ok, here's the official word, just received by email:

"The magazine is launching nationally on April 7th but may be on sale in some areas this weekend. The previous four issues were test publications only, so we are starting again at issue 1 with revised and updated contents.

With thanks for your interest,
Trisha Palmer"

They're gonna make me buy the first four again...

Anybody know when Star Trek:The Magazine will be available in my neck of the woods? (ie: Saint John, New Brunswick)

I don't know if there are any plans to release it over there. Here's Trisha's address, she'd be the person to ask:

I don't see why not, this is now a 'regular' magazine. Here's their address in case you missed it before:

Just found the new Issue #1 at the store. That will certainly make the four trial issues collector's items for those who like rare stuff. Did anyone ever get any of the first four? I found #2 and that was it.

I'll have to pick up the new Magazine and look for the first four when I go to Denver for StarFest'99 and their massive dealers room. If anyone wants to find me there I'm usually crawling through the dealers room bargain bins about 45% of the time. Picked up a ton of books there and most at a discount (Like Art of Star Trek for $25).

Nyah-nyah! I picked up a mint-condition AoST at Half-Price Books for a whopping $9! Maybe it was a mistake on their part, but I for one couldn't care less... =)

There are some people articles such as interviews with Berman, Stewart, and Zimmerman. Some stuff on the Borg. Looks like a mix of some of the articles previously seen in the first four issues as well as newer ones. As for starships it mostly covers the ones from Insurrection and gives some lengths.

New shuttle: 16m
Yacht: 33.53m
Holoship: 246.88m
Scout ship 24m (plus 16m across)
Ru'afo's ship 354m

And there is a brief sidebar from Sternbach discussing the changes made to the design of the Raven from its first appearance as a crashed vessel to its later intact appearance.

I just bought my copy today. What a great magazine!

As to ships, as soon as I can clear out some space for the plug, I'll be doing some scanning, in case anyone is interested.

They actually had 2 commercials on for it during DS9 tonight. Concrete proof that it's out in Canada. =D

I'll be hunting tomorrow....

Doesn't anyone know how to leave a note at the TNO forums or elsewhere saying, "The Forums Are Back Up"?

Like the interface - haven't seen a movies' era style before. I was just wondering what happened to that five-mile ship Zimmerman mentioned in an interview a while ago. Is it actually in the movie?

Boris: As the creator of the MCARS (movie interface), I thank you for your compliments. =]

The 5 mile long ship would be the giant collector ship, if I'm not mistaken...

The hunt was a success! =D

I found mine at a Coles Bookstore in Kitchener, just for any fellow Canadians who were wondering...

Boris: Y'know, I wondered why you posted TNO's address over at Sternbach's group, but not this. I thought maybe you didn't know it was back up, but I figured you find out after I posted it... :-)

Who hoo I got one. Found it at an Albertson's Grocery store in the middle of the night of all places to find it. Still reading through it. Found mistakes in the Enterprise-E schematics they printed (two different locations for the impulse engines and they are both wrong).

Nice artwork. Other than the drawings from the people at Paramount themselves I'm wondering how much of it is "official"?

Also is the $4.99 (us) the regular price or only a First Issue special?

Hopefully it reaches to the West soon. Just checked for those living in W Canada, it is not expected out yet. Every Coles location I know of is closing down due to the big massive invasion of Big stores like Chapters.

The place that I normally go to Chapters and Coles in my hometown of burnaby didn't have it.

Well, I just found out when Star Trek: The Magazine becomes available in my area. I went to my local Co-op and was very surprised to see none other than Star Trek: The Magazine! I very hastily grabbed the only copy and bought it. Man do I ever love this mag! But it's going to be a fairly expensive collection, seeing as where the regular price in Canada is $11.99. It's worth it, though!
