OK, I know that they're not 'really' canon, but I like to keep track of Ships that are featured in novels and computer games because I find it interesting. Anyway, I've only recently been collecting names and info from novels, and don't have a very impressive list. Is there anyone else who keeps track of these? If so, would you mind sharing your names with me so I can flesh out my own lists? Thanks.

Yay! Another Transformers fan! Welcome to the forums.

I'll leave your questions to the game-players and novel-readers, as I am not among them.

Ohmigawsh... a chance to actually make myself USEFUL!!

Yes, I keep track of ships in books (at least, in the TOS, TNG and DS9 Pocket Books published by Simon & Schuster), as well as the new Role-Playing game. I have nearly all the Pocket Books Trek novels ever written, and I buy them as soon as they come out. (I often, but not always, wait for hardbacks to arrive in paperback)

So, what do you need, Fed ships? Alien ships? Privately-owned ships? TOS ers or TNG-DS9 era?

*cackles with mad glee*

Here's an example: My page #1 of TNG-era Federation ships, with classes and registries, if known. (deleted the canonical ones from this list)

Aizawa -- Cruiser
Akira -- Akira Class -- NCC-62497 -- F
Albedo -- Tug

Hey thanks. Well, any and all would be cool, if it's not a problem, so I could get a jump on the aliens as well.

And Frank G: Transformers rule, although I'd never say that in public, because I'm 16, and it's not socially acceptable

I always thought Magnus was a wimp for not facing up to Galvy in that early 90's annual.

At least the newboy has enough sense not to mention Transformers. Ha! Kids and their insecure fear of social neglect.

Anyway, welcome to the Flare Forums, Magnus P.I. -- You'll find us a friendy lot.
Until we turn on you for some obscure thing or other. Which you wouldn't know about.
Until it was too late.
Enjoy.

Don't know a thing about non-canon ships, BTW.
Don't want to know a thing about non-canon ships.

It has concealed weapons no warp signature etc, also cloaks and has black stealth hull!

Speaking about Transformers, any good sites out there?

My favorite new ship from the games/novels so far is that massive Klingon cruiser from Starfleet Academy, but Star Trek: Armada is gonna have some pretty awesome new ships. Specificly the new 29th century ship (the main one).

Well, since it's now brought up, i dug out the only 3 Trek Novels I have (with exception of New Frontier), and was looking up ships. Almost all are currently in that list right there, with a few minor exceptions. The ships from TNG #42 Infiltrator are:
USS Marconi (I don't know where you got Aeolus Class from...)
USS Raymond Z. Gallun
USS Titov
USS Eando Bander
USS Belfast
USS Discovery (no class given, so probably different from your Nebula class one)
USS Cutty Sark
I also think there is a USS Crazy Horse, but I can't find it.

From TNG #45 Intellivore:
USS Pathfinder (Picard served on her)
USS Marignano (described as half the size of the E-D, primary hull half with width but engineering hull about the same size. She also had long nacelles, equal in length to the E-Ds. She is a long-range science vessel)
USS Oraidhe
USS Constellation

And from TOS #73 Recovery:
USS Recovery (this ship has over 70 decks!)
USS Paladin
USS Starhawk (I'm not certain, but I think the Starhawk is described as only having one nacelle or something, but I know both Paladin and Starhawk are ships smaller then the Enterprise)

Oh well, just a little two cents to add there...

Will traders barter for him? Will they divide him up among the merchants? Can you fill his hide with harpoons or his head with fishing spears. If you lay a hand on him, you will remember the struggle and never do it again!" -Job 41:1 - Job 41:8

Along with the Defiant Class Monitor and the Galaxy Class Challenger in ST: The Return, there was also a Miranda Class that was said to have been at Wolf 359 that the Borg captured. Can't remember the name right now though...

359: The U.S.S. Crazy Horse was mentioned in TNG's 'Conspiracy', I think.
That may be what you're thinking of.

To add to what others have said about The Return (ick):

Picard speculated that the Miranda was the USS Hoagland, which went missing at Wolf 359. It was too far assimilated to get a name or registry, though.

At the beginning, there's a USS Farragut NCC-60597 heading up the salvage effort at Veridian III. Its class is never mentioned, but it has a crew complement of 640 before it's destroyed by the Avatar of Tomed (Borg-enhanced Rommie D'Deridex).

Don't know if you want shuttles, but Salatrel sticks Kirk on a Montreal-class. It's ugly, it's single-nacelled, it's the frying pan design in shuttle form.

Now I have to raid my bookshelf...

I think in anotehr of Shatner's (evil) books, there was a runabout named St. Lawerence.

The St. Lawerence was a runabout that fired Quantum Torp's. Also the Monitor Defiant had been fitted with a stolen Borg transwarp drive, and it was black and stealthy, also the Borg Homeworld was the machine planet that assimilated V'ger! Also one more thing, the Borg Unicomplex in Voyager's Dark Frontier, was it the borg homeworld?

The Crazy Horse is Excelsior Class. I'm talking about the Miranda Class that Picard and Crusher see when the Borg cube they stow away in comes into that complex. It's also next to a Klingon ship that the Borg captured.

TerraZ, you mean The Return? The shuttles at Veridian III were Tesla-class. I don't see where the Farragut's class was identified, but there may be something later in the book (e.g., "They've already destroyed a Nebula-class starship...").

Lt.Tom: Well, "The Return" is sorta the sequel to "Generations" and at the end Picard and Riker are transported to the Faragut (which I always assumed was the Nebula class ship at the end). Are there any other ship named Faragut in the TNG era (haven't checked SWDAO yet)?

Anyway,

Thanks for the input, I've been reading up and scribbling down ships from books I borrowed from the library, but still probably don't have 1/10th the ships there are. Any more contributions would be appreciated.

For some reason, I thought Shatner wouldn't slaughter a canon starship. (Of course, he slaughters canon throughout his books, so why would I think that? )

I have the ships from TOS #78 Invasion! 1: First Strike, but other than the frigate Great Lakes and the Fury ship they're all Klink BoPs. Are we including other emps' ships in this, or is it a Feddie-only list?

Is that Transformers virus double episode the last one? I remember it having the resurrection of good old Op Prime. It was the last one that aired over here (West Australia).

Some of the toys are worth amazing amounts these days

Oh yeah, did you know that Leonard Nimoy did the voice of Galvatron in the movie? I can't remember if he continued on for the later cartoons.

Yes, "Rebirth" (a 3-part episode) was the last one. It didn't really seem like a conclusion to the series, though...more of a way to introduce the year 4 toys.

Frank Welker, voice of Megatron and every other cartoon character ever (look up his voice credits), did Galvatron after the movie.

Good ol' Oppie was voiced by Peter Cullen, so was Ironhide.

In the movie there was an abundance of 'higher echelon' stars voicing characters. Robert Stack voiced Ultra Magnus, Judd Nelson was Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime, Eric Idle was Wreck-Gar and Orson Welles [!!] was Unicron.

Back on topic: I just bought TOS #29: "DREADNOUGHT!", and it has a couple of ship names, most from fandom, which is kinda wierd.

So for the Dreadnoughts and Destroyers they're (mostly) using names straight out of the Star Fleet Technical Manual but with a different design for the ships.

Okay, that ties in with this being an adaptation of the Star Fleet Battles game. (For those that don't know SFB was never licensed by Paramount but was allowed to use material from the Star Fleet Tech Manual, which was licensed by Paramount, wierd or what?)

BTW are there any SFB players out there? I'd like some info on some of the ships invented for that game. In particular the Federation NCL.

Yes, I know what the real Akula looks like, but I remember that class you call the Saladin being called the Akula.

Will he speak to you with gentle words? Will he make an agreement with you for you to take him as your slave for life? Can you make a pet of him like a bird or put him on a leash for your girls? Will traders barter for him? Will they divide him up among the merchants? Can you fill his hide with harpoons or his head with fishing spears. If you lay a hand on him, you will remember the struggle and never do it again!" -Job 41:1 - Job 41:8

Hi Ultra, welcome to the forums.

The ships from that Star Trek game should be considered in the catagory; Non-Canon yet Cannon. The ships are of Starfleet design, but not necessarily actual Starfleet vessels.

Oh, Ultra, Michael_T is a guy, I should know since I'm sharing his bed.

Justin: Thanks. And you're a guy too, right? Hey, that's cool with me.

The ships for the most part aren't canon, but have slightly more leverage than completely-made up ships. We can't consider them canon, even if they're sanctioned by Paramount.
