In that episode, in the beginning, we see a briefing with Kirk and the others. On a screen on the table, I can see something that looks like a map. Any pics? This would be a new map, the only map we saw on TOS was the romulan neutral zone.

Interesting! What sort of map is it - a system map with a star and orbiting planets, or a wider map with borders and whatnot?

There were plenty of system maps in TOS, usually recycled versions of the one made for "The Cage". And of course the tunnel maps from "Devil in the Dark". But another wide map with borders would really be a find!

I have "Corbomite" on tape, but no screengrabbing equipment. Let's see what I can find - perhaps this is a familiar map after all.

It was a wider map, could have been a reuse of the neutral zone map, come to think of it. I only caught a fleeting glance since I wasnt prepared for anything new :-)

Tried to freeze-frame it. Could be a map, but could also be some sort of a circuitry diagram (perhaps the crew was pondering how to make the ship turn faster or accelerate more swiftly or jam the cube buoy's sensors so that they could go around the cube?). There are no scribbles on it that would look like words, although there are letters or numbers scattered around.

One would need a DVD or laserdisk to get a good view. In any case, nicely spotted!

Keep in mind that Corbomite... predates Balance of Terror

The above post was mulled-over, composed, and posted during time Tom would have better spent on his plethora of homework and homework-related exercises. Now don't you feel special?
