Hey guys, thought this was an interesting bit of info:

"The French aircraft carrier Foch, renamed the Sao Paulo, has been handed over to the Brazilian Navy in a small ceremony at the French Naval Base in Brest. The 37 year old, 27,000 tonne aircraft carrier was sold to Brazil for 80 million froancs, not including the cost of refurbishment.
The Sao Paulo will stay in Brest until February next year, before headin to its home port of Rio de Janeiro. The Foch is being replaced in the French service by the Gharles de Gaulle."

Maybe this ship does something extra special in the future to warrant its name being used again on one of our favorite little combatants. Must not have been as special as the exploits of the Defiant tho.

Probably fires the first shots in the Brazil-France War that will consume the South Atlantic in the early-21st century.

Remember December '59
The howling wind and the driving rain,
Remember the gallant men who drowned
On the lifeboat, Mona was her name.

The Foch was in Crimson Tide ...

Or, at least, a ship standing in for the Foch was in Crimson Tide ...

No, that was actually the Foch in Crimson Tide. Or, it was either her or her sister the Clemenceau (now retired). Some of the shots with the Super Etendards taking off and landing were very nice, totally out of character for a US movie to feature another countries ships like that.
