As anyone noticed these?

1) Unimatrix Zero pt II - The free-Borg occupied Sphere sat in a greenish-yellow Metaphasic-like Nebula. The Klingon in charge of the sphere states that they are regenerating and will be ready for the attack. Metaphasic Nebula is what is used to rush repair rates in Star Trek Armada.

-- OK that was a bit of a strech. But this one is a bit better --

2) Lineage - Paris and Torres are in thier quarters complaining about all the free (unwanted) advice they are getting about thier new child. Tom mentions that Chell said something... Chell is the Bolian introduced in Elite Force.

-- That one is pretty close to a full refrence, by what I saw, how close Paramount and the Voyager cast/crew were durret the development of Elite Force and the advertizing between Voyager (the show) and that game, I wonder if we will see a couple or subtle, or even better, a couple distinct refrences to the events and characters from Star Trek games --

See, THIS is the type of spoiler that annoys me. Not that it's told without any warning, it's the fact that it's not even necessary. How hard would it have been to say "In lineage, Paris mentions that Chell said something to him"? Hmm?

The swedish TV network has just aired "The Gift", ok? The imported tapes from London, which I pay 25$ for btw, are currently on "The Haunting Of Deck Twelve"/"Unimatrix, Pt I", as goes for the rest of Europe. Have a care. It was the same with the leaked

Many people outside the land of the free haven't seen "Unimatrix Zero Part II." In fact, "Equinox Part II" hasn't been shown on the BBC yet! So references to 'Free Borg' and them attacking other Borg are definite spoilers.

The mere fact that Torres & Paris are having a child is a major spoiler. And, given that people in America who have sex when they're not married die instant horrible deaths, it's not that much of a deductive stretch for anyone who didn't suffer your High School system to conclude they must be married - another spoiler.

Yes, the first post probably should've contained spoiler warnings which PsyLiam already addressed. What I don't get is how my:
"He was also in this season's ep that dealt with the Maquis. Talkative as ever."

or TSN's:
"Yes, after I posted my confusion early Saturday morning, I discovered that that was the episode set to air on Saturday night, i.e. the current episode."

requires a complaint. Neither of us even started the thread nor did we post a spoiler.

And no, they didn't get married in "Course: Oblivion" I'd tell you who did, but...

Sorry. It just struck me wrong. I'll shut up.

Oh, and Vogon: Have you watched Temptation Island? Proof positive that sex before marriage is perfectly acceptable to most people in the U.S. (myself not included).

The fact that they get married in Course: Oblivion doesn't matter as much as if they do in another episode, as they all died anyway, and it didn't affect the overall storyline.

But nobody's complained about the two points you mention, Alan. Liam's (and my) displeasure concerns instead the revealing of future plot points, without warning of spoilers, in a context that didn't really require that information be divulged. As Liam points out, he could just have said "Lineage features Chell the Bolian, who appeared in Elite Force."

It's just sloppy, and it's been a point of contention for a long time. The most famous example here was where - SPOILERS AHEAD for s7 DS9 - someone asked a question about a new Starfleet/Federation logo seen in an episode of the Final Chapter, but happened to mention that it was on a certain replacement starship (you know the one I mean). WHY bring that up? It had nothing to do with the question.

Well, it's official. Wanker1701E has ruled that foreigners have no place here. I'd be interested to know what all of us non-Americans have to say about that - I'd list us all, but I haven't the time. Personally I'm amazed. All we ever asked is that people type in ONE little character - $ - so people are warned. But apparently that's too much to ask.

You see, as I understand the history of this place, it was orignally a Brit forum. That changed when yon Capps took it over. . . but I was told it's always remained an international place, where people can discuss whatever they like, about Trek or - these days! - just about anything else. Seems I was wrong. Just out of interest, anyone else feel that non-Yanks shouldn't be here? And what's your feelings about Canadians, Wesley? Anything concerning them you'd like to get off your chest?

Jesus motherfucking Christ. I'm just stunned at what he said. Sorry about the mini-rant, everyone else.

Well, you can guess how I feel about it. Everything you guys get to see will remain a spoiler for me for the next five years at the very least.

Then again, exactly because I get the good stuff so late, I've never been worried about getting spoiled. In the super-rare occasions I get to use spoiler warnings (mainly in connection with novels, which cross the pond far more rapidly than radio waves, it seems), I try to be generous with 'em $$$$$s. And when I goof up, I expect to be mail-bombed or Narn-baseball-batted or whatever the standard response is - I do sympathize with the poor you who get the stuff only a week, a month or a year late.

Well, it's perhaps too much to even say that we get the stuff. We're currently seeing Voyager season three, with DS9 on a post-"Broken Link" hiatus for the Nth year. We saw TNG in three parts, in three channels, as channel after channel passed it on like a lukewarm and slightly smelly potato. Videotapes seep through, with a total of two affordable dealers in the capital city and with one of these converting to DVD an uninterested in acquiring further tapes. Trying to get Fact Files would be prohibitively expensive.

And the "#%& sadists stopped showing Stargate after season two! In reparations, we got to see Earth 2 three times...

Hey, I for one am all for people from all areas. i think it livens things up. And I'm usually very good about spoiler stuff. But people just going off about crap really gets to me. I mean come on guys. It's a TV show. It's not like someone's revealing your future sexual encounters to every one...

Yes, people should be more considerate, but mellow out a little...it's not worth the embalism.

And rants and extra-sci-fi opinions have "Flameboard" written all over them.

Once upon a time, there was a TV show called Babylon 5. And it was watched by people all over the world.

Now, this show was currently in it's highly successful third season. The story was getting really interesting, and building up to what promised to be an interesting cliff hanger. It was being shown in the US and UK at roughly the same time.

And thus, was Z'Ha'Dum aired, to much acclaim. There were Brits who went onto the internet to discuss the shock cliffhanger. And they were devoured by hordes of angry yanks, complaining that they'd ruined the show for them. For, you see, the final few episodes had been held back in the US.

Now, the Brits got their bollocks ripped off for that. Despite the fact that it was only a TV show. Tsk.

Hey, don't we get Farscape before you do? Can we ruin that for you? Hmm? Please?

I wasn't complaining about the spoilers. I was complaining that they were unnessecary. The information could have easily been presented without ruining anything.

I know that people all over the world are up to different points. And I appreciate taht it may be hard avoiding mentioning any episode that hasn't been shown in the depths of Europe, where they have just discovered fire. But honestly, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out that the current season could be considered spoiler information.

AS a rough guidline, go by the UK/Australian Video releases, which currently include all of season 6 of Voyager, and no season 7. And if you're not sure, just put a *VOY s7* flag in the title. Honestly, is it hard to be a little bit considerate?

As far as spoilers go, I've gotten some people mad because they thought I should of put warnings and I thought it wasn't really necessary. For example, saying Q is in an upcoming Voyager episode isn't a spoiler.

I've heard that VCR's are made different or something in European countries. Too bad, I'd be willing to record episodes and send them out. For a small fee of course, mainly to cover the expense of shipping overseas.

I'm just now watching Babylon 5 for the first time on the Sci-Fi Channel which has just begun it's 5th season. Great show too, nice to see it everyday in order. And the more I watch it, the more Voyager's faults are obvious. I tried getting into Farscape..a couple times, but lost interest.

The tapes are the same, powerage is different. The US runs on 60 cycles and Europe runs on something like 50. I just flipped a switch on the back of my stereo and bought a plug adapter, the other smaller stuff, shaver and clock were native, so I didn't need to worry....
Yes, we can do a tape/fact file exchange, for me at least. Let me know if they're any takers, email me with an address, and tomorrow I will get some tapes.

The first few episodes were pants, then it was good, then great, then almost great, then pants again.

Almost everything made now is dual voltage anyway. 120 vs 240. Not that that makes a blinding difference for tapes. America and Japan use NTSC, whereas the rest of the world uses PAL. Which has a higher resolution. And is better. Natch.

Pretty much all VCR's made in the past few years though are NTSC compatible. So that's not the problem. No, the main problem is that it's a teeny weeny bit expensive to get tapes air-mailed over on a regular basis.

Still, I can and do buy US tapes from on-line stores. Or at least, I used to. I know buy DVD's. Which are region coded. Bastards.

And furthermore, I think B5 is a well done show, but its just not my thing. Voyager has its faults only to those who look to far into it. Theres no real horribly obvious faults unless your the type of person to have its cut-away on your wall. Which is cool, because I have the Enterprise-E cutaway up on mine framed and everything, and its a beaut! The people that sicken me are the ones who don't have them cause they arnt 'official' or 'canon' because the warp core is half a deck too tall or some BS like that. Y'know, I could be wrong on this one, (and if I am, feel free to correct me, Wes1701E) but IIRC, a certain Mr. Charles Capps wields the mighty sword of power here (Of course, Simon does too, but that encompasses more than just forums), and despite your 'a gooda talkin's', simply because this forum is owned by a man who happens to live in the United States, that doesn't give any "special priviledges" to Americans or anybody else.

There are no fucking road maps on the fucking internet. No boundaries. This forum ISN'T located in the US. It's fucking bytes in your fucking modem cable going into your fucking monitor, in the window that is minimized behind the other window with the well-jacked off Pee Porn pictures.

You should've put $$$ in. You didn't, and it wouldn't have been a problem if you would've said sorry, but then you went on this whole motherfuckinglystupidlygayyoushouldgetyourfuckingheadsmashedinbyahornypanda tangent of "This is American. I am American. Therefore, I = Good. Capice? Ooh, wait, Capice is italian, right? Damn greaseballs, I mean to say, got it partner?"

Yeah, I should probably stop now, or Mr. Seniority and power, with his whole 76 posts will come and not be nice to me.

Good day sir. I prey for your plants. May they produce heaps of good Chlorophyll.

"For Computer Graphics I currently use 3D Studio VIZ, trueSpace4, Lightwave 5.5, Adobe Photoshop 5.5, After Effects 4.0, Premiere 5.1, Illustrator 8.0, Bryce 3D, Canoma 1.1, Poser 3, and Universe 1.7"

"For not caring, everyone who reads this uses their heads, and their asses, for something to compare you with, and wishes they could use their foot. In your jaw."

PS - You spelled "Forums" wrong.

Ok. Get mad, thats fine. Thats how I was. I'm sorry if I upset you, Im rarely the one to get upset. I do not have a problem with anyone from any other countries. I also know that the internet is free of boundaries. And I also know theirs no way in hell im going to forget to put $$$ in front of a post with possible spoilers.

You people just seem to ignore the fact Vogon Poet straight out insulted Americans. If I was directly insult your country, wouldnt you lash out at that person? He generalized the people in the US. I do not like this. Do the Americans in this forum agree with him?

"...people in America who have sex when they're not married die instant horrible deaths, it's not that much of a deductive stretch for anyone who didn't suffer your High School system..."

I personally choose to be sexually active. I also take pride in my school, most of the time. Your telling me that OUR high school systems are all the same. Your telling me people who have sex should die horrible deaths. Thats wrong. Your wrong. Everything I said about this being US place I take back. This is an international place, as is all of the internet. I apologize. My problems are not from users from other countries at all. Its Vogon Poet. He was first to generalize someone from a country in this forum, i may have made it worse, but i believe I deserve an apology. Just as I have given him.

Wes: Good idea. You should quite while you're behind, because I don't see much chance of your getting ahead. You're misinterpreting things people said, taking offense at meaningless things, and generally making an ass of yourself. Granted, the people you're complaining about aren't being particularly nice, but there's no rule that says they have to be. Sardonism is commonplace here. So is jokingly generalizing about various countries. I think you'd do well to just deal w/ that.

This whole discussion has become pretty much pointless. I'm not going to say you all have to shut up about it, but it'd be nice if you'd all volunteer to.

Oooh, this is fun.

There was just one thing I wanted to pick at in Wes' arguments, and even if he's not going to read them, I'll post it.

"When you see something thats poster recently that sounds like it could be a spoiler, its YOUR perogitive to read it or not."

Now a thread called "Star Trek Voyager/Game refrences" didn't, to me at least, scream out "THERE'S OBVIOUSLY FAIRLY LARGE SPOILERS FOR THE MOST RECENT EPISODE OF VOYAGER SHOWN IN THE US IN THIS THREAD. IF YOU READ IT, YOU'LL BE SPOILED. YOU MORON."

But that could just be me.

What's more important, there WERE no Trek "references", just facts from the show implemented in the games, like bloodwine from the "Klingon Honor Guard"-shooter. "Hey, I saw some bloodwine in a DS9-episode!!! Must be an easter-egg..."
Thus, the spoilers came from a clear sky...

I know, screwing a dead horse. Wesley agreed he'd be more careful in the future, and that's all I need. At least I think that's what you were TRYING to say, without actually having to say it, eh?

Actually, I was waiting for someone to post the "correct" version, so that I could kill them.

*kills Popmaze*

Honestly people (this is now directed at the world at large). When someone does a variation on a well known phrase/joke, DON'T mention the original. We're not idiots. We don't need to be informed, in the middle of an amusing siloquy on KFC, that the original reason the chicken crossed the world was to get to the other side. Please, we all got the reference. We are all smug with ourselves for being smarter than everyone else. We all know that we are dynamite in the act called sex. Don't inform everyone else.

I shall now sing "Girl From Mars".
