The TNG rerun with the USS Yamato's destruction was on today. I noticed two key differences with the E-D bridge. One, is that the tactical station's horseshoe railing is gree lino instead of wood as on the Enterprise. Second, and much less noticable, is that the Captain's Chair is at least one step up from the floor. You can clearly see the top of the chair in the middle of the central support for the horseshoe, instead of at the bottom.

This could be because the actor for Captain Varley was much taller than Picard, and could use the legroom. However, it's further proof that no two GCS bridges are alike.

I'm afraid that I haven't seen that episode for a few years now< and from what I can remember it looked alike, but that was a few years ago.

Any pics?

Is that circuitry the top of the tactical stations LCARS display peeled back and folded over? Or is that some kind of a box attached to the top of the tactical railing?

Was the Yamato bridge in "Cantagion" set up the same as in "Where Silence Has Lease"?

I doubt it.

The Yamato bridge in "Where Silence Has Lease" looked EXACTLY like the TNG bridge.

The "Contagion" Yamato has a box(?) behind Varley on the Tactical post, a different colored tactical rail, and apparently a raised command dias.

Aban's correct; from the video, the Tactical station looked open and people were working on it.

The tech manual shows that the LCARS consoles are made up of sheets of pliable material. I just fugured that they were actually sticking to that here. You can basically peel up the layers of the display to get to the circuitry underneath.

Well, were they using the same console tech in ST:V? Because in the opening scene on the bridge, they had the tops of consoles open to access circuitry underneath, and they look pretty solid to me.

Is it very wise to put such a large chunk of circuitary near the Captain's head. We've seen what happens when panels explode in Trek
