Okay, Today is June 12. The "due date" for the Pre-E is September 26. So, the question of the day is:

On what day do you believe the first pictures of the Pre-E will be posted to the internet?

Dates only, please. Hours and minutes don't count. I'll start off by suggesting that we'll see our first pictures of the new/old Enterprise before a month has past from this day, at the latest. That is, my date for the first pitures is July 12.

You?

Mark

Mmm...that's a tough one.

I'll say July 27.

Mid-September.

Given that Enterprise was leaked months before the offical announcemnt I'll say end of the month the 29th say.

But the first Inaccurate or deceptive Fannish pics will start coming out within two weeks.

1) These are Fan Images.

2) These fan images were ripped off by Steve Krutzler from a fan who posted them in the TrekBBS.

3) Steve Krutzler is the same guy who ripped off Goffy a while back, according to Charles.

4) These pictures are NOT TO BE TRUSTED. So is the source, (not the artist, Krutzler).

I know this has nothing to do with the thread subject but, Vogon Poet why does your Dad think that Angel sucks? (From your sig line).

Posted by Jeff Kardde (Member # 411) on :

Angel is a Vampire.

Vampires suck blood.

AKB needs a sense of humor.

Or a reintroduction to the Vampire genre.

Tahna, that's exactly what First said. But the first Inaccurate or deceptive Fannish pics will start coming out within two weeks. Vorgon then said that, hey! The fannish pics were already coming out.

Rob: "But the first Inaccurate or deceptive Fannish pics will start coming out within two weeks."

Lee: "There already are some out."

Eric: As you can see, Lee already knew they were "inaccurate or deceptive" fan pics when he posted them.

July 19

but they will be of poor quality, and so much debate will be had. Eventually, as better images leak, it will be decided that they are indeed accurate.

'You will then eat your ice cream too fast and get an iKes cream headache.'

Oh I see, it was a joke! Sorry, I had my brain pushed into "Serious" gear. Vampire, sucks blood - get it, got it - poor joke, but still funny.

I really need to work on my sense of humour.

Hmmm. August 10th I reckon

An actual picture: Aug 21... but rough sketches or a cutaway on a control panel might appear earlier.

Well, I never thought that last post would be so subject to misapprehension. Glad to know there were loads of people to explain it to Loseychops. 8)

And as for my .sig, you gotta remember my Dad is Scottish. Such blatantly American slang sounded hilarious coming from him. He's becoming seriously clued-in as it is, he even knew what happened in the Buffy finale! It was a bizarre conversation anyway, I used the term "stud muffin" then had to explain it to my Mum (unsuccessfully; what IS the definition of a stud muffin?).

Erm... I think it's basically just a physically attractive guy, isn't it? I don't know. Honestly, I don't usually call people that. Actually, I don't really ever call people that... *L*

Posted by Vogon Poet (Member # 393) on :

Yes, but you're a very boring person. I can't recall the exact context the term was used in, either describing someone ironically or being sarcastic about their own self-image.

August 14.

There are now books devoted to the collection of (or creation of) obscure words to describe obscure concepts.

We need to invent one for the concept of beginning a thread on one topic "When will the first images of Enterprise be released?" and ending on another "My dad says Angel is a stud muffin".

'Non-sequitor' does not cover it. It has to be web-oriented, high-tech, and capable of crossing the planet is a few hours.

Terms for obscure concepts?

Oh, get pegged!

"And as for my .sig, you gotta remember my Dad is Scottish."

I'm sorry Lee. You have my sympathy

It would appear Bernd is set to be our big winner, with his guess of July 9th right-on-the-nose of the release of a new TV Guide with a pull-out poster of the Enterprise in it. (One would guess this'll be a fairly detailed pic of the CGI model rather than a sketch, but no promises.) Now, this actual issue is dated for July 14th with a street date of the previous Monday (the 9th), but that might mean a few copies could be scanned earlier, possibly this weekend. *shrugs* I guess we'll have to wait and see.

But barring it appearing tomorrow, I think Bernd has it in the bag. Congrats, Bernd. Now let's hope he likes it... *ducks*

Actually I missed the correct date by one day (but I would have preferred if it had never been released).

Posted by The Red Admiral (Member # 602) on :

LOL. I'd preferred it if they'd never even conceived of this damn series. It's gunna give me ulcers.

Posted by Mark Nguyen (Member # 469) on :

Dr. Hunter guessed the date of the logo pic, which was the first real pic to hit the net, official or not.

Mark

Posted by Balaam Xumucane (Member # 419) on :

Well we still haven't seen any actual images of the model, have we. C'mon 19th...

Posted by The Vorlon (Member # 52) on :

There IS NO MODEL!

The Pre-E is entirely CGI. And as for official, tonight's ET Preview showed the same pic as was in TV Guide displayed on a couple monitors in the background of the sets.

Official enough for you?

Posted by Balaam Xumucane (Member # 419) on :

As I'm sure you are aware, CG also utilizes 'models'. And I'm not saying it isn't official. I mean you don't have TV Guide distributing a fanfic poster, I'm just saying we haven't seen any shots of it from the show.

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

But it's still a picture of the actual CGI model of the actual ship. If only shots from the show counted, we'd just all guess the day the premiere airs, and we'd all be right.

Posted by Balaam Xumucane (Member # 419) on :

Do you think that's really CGI? It looks like a really good painting to me, but I could be totally wrong. I've been studying it pretty closely, though.
