as i recall, TrekBBS routinely collapses in on itself. as well it should.

URL shortened a bit...

Alas, I'm on staff to keep the server running, not falling all over itself... [Razz]

Is that first picture supposed to be a gerbil in a party hat photoshopped into a Star Trek uniform? Not that I'm making any judgements or anything, but that is plumb crazy.

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

Looks more like a monkey w/ a beard and a fez.

...photoshopped into a SF uniform.

"Why do they always go there?"

It's big. BIG. And it's a common denominator.

Celebs? We don't need no steenkin' celebs!

But it would be cool

Posted by Futurama Guy (Member # 968) on :

he certainly isn't what we would call an uberceleb....(and sorry to all you German folk, I dont have easy access to your fancy u's.)

Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :

Didn't really read the thread, but didn't Darkwing Duck used to post here?

Posted by Harry (Member # 265) on :

Wasn't that DARKWING? The silly one?

Nothing said on that thread was of particular import and it's nothing that we've not talked to death ourselves either IMHO.
So this guy made the Avenger blueprints: It's not like he designed the ship or anything.....
While he's a talented person, Flare has no shortage of talented yahoos either. [Wink]
...now somone make me a MSD of my USS Merrimac PLease!

please?

Posted by Topher (Member # 71) on :

Actually, I don't think Todd had anything to do with those. He did the E-D blueprints, though. And SotSF.

Well we get Mojo visiting us!! [Smile]

Where is he?

Mark?

[Smile]

Posted by Starship Freak (Member # 293) on :

Ftrama Gy, you do too have have access to umlauts.. you just don't know how... is ALT-0252

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

Or, since we have HTML, just type "ü" where you want it to show up.

Posted by Futurama Guy (Member # 968) on :

Its a lot easier to type 'u' than to really care enough to look on the character map for the fancy 'u' to satisfy the Germans, aside from acknowledging the fact that I knew it was more than a simple 'u'. But noooooo, you had to nitpick anyway. [Smile] Actually I'm not really all that up on my HTML, and what few key stokes I actually used enough to memorize are limited to: , , , α and β.

Mojo is... Busy. Can't say more. Don't ask.

Mark

Posted by Topher (Member # 71) on :

Everyone on this board is a nitpicker. Otherwise we wouldn't be here. There is, however, only one Nixpicker. [Wink]

Just for my information, just in case it comes up in my citizenship test.

Howdy ya'll. I'm kinda new here to Flare, but am by no means a newbie to the hobby. Trust me there.... [Wink]

Todd Guenther was one of many people involved in a group of graphic artist-illustrators who were also Treknology fans. Todd was involved in a great many fanproduced endeavours such as:

Ships of the Star Fleet, Volume One (and Revised)
Ships of the Star Fleet, Volume Two, Number One
Star Trek: The Next Generation U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D Blueprints
Starship Design
Federation Starship Recognition Chart

and a great deal more works. He's one of my favorite illustrators of Trek and I wish he'd do more stuff. Of course, with ParaBorg cracking down harder than ever.... [Frown]

Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :

Oooh - the Recognition Chart!?! Do you think he'd give details about the Ariadne class? Even though I think he's just taken the S.S. Enterprise space-ring-ship and divided it up into three bits for the first three starships on the chart.

Posted by Griffworks (Member # 1014) on :

Holy Krap! [Eek!]

I've had that poster sitting over my workbench/computer desk area for years - thru three different locations and NEVER NOTICED that about those three ships!

WTF is wrong with me! Durr.....

I'll bet you're right, tho the three ship pieces don't add completely up to the "original" starliner design. Still, that's kewel that you caught that about the three ships adding up as thre three major components. Good on ya! -

Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :

Actually I thought the Ariadne was a ring-ship and someone else in another thread, hold on:

http://flare.solareclipse.net/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=7;t=001071;p=5#000064

Woodside Kid.

Then I did a rough piccy in the last page.

Was a good thread.

AND this ties in with the T-Negative article - with the whole 'Mark-IX' system.

(Could you maybe give us a nice scan of that chart!?!) [Wink]

Andrew
