Does anyone have a good cap of this or a picture of the plaque itself. The one I tried to get is too blurry. Data does read USS Stargazer, Constellation Class, Starfleet Registry NCC-2893 in The Battle. I am hoping there is more to it.

Quick search found this:

It was indicated in the Encyclopedia that the quote at the bottom of the plaque was written by episode writer Herb Wright read:

"To bring light into the darkness."

There's been no publication of this plaque to my knowledge, so info on construction location, commissioning date, etc. are still in "the darkness".

The plaque said Constitution class instead, as when the plaque was made, TPTB were still planning on using the refit Enterprise model. Look closely at Brent Spiner when he's saying his line. You'll notice he mouths out Constitution class. The same gose for anyone else who "said" Constellation class in that episode. That's because the episode was alreasy filmed before post-production had the class changed.

I've got a blooper vid with Spiner doing a JImmy Stewart impression in that scene and exclaiming "Why...this thing's made in Bedford Falls!".

Yeah... where ARE all those Star Trek bloopers? They should've put that on the DVDs [Frown]

As has been pointed out, the reason why the plaque has never been shown in the Encyclopedia or anywhere else is because it lists the Stargazer as a Consitution-class vessel. And OF COURSE they wouldn't want us to see that...

So even back then, before Star Trek VI, (actually around Trek IV), they intended the movie refit Enterprise to be a Constitution Class starship...interesting....

This was after Star Trek IV and before Star Trek V. This was after Mike Okuda came onboard and adopted everything Gene said as holy writ. One of those edicts from on high was that the movie Enterprise was Constitution-class. The reason for that I do not know...

Thanks, I was looking to seeing where the ship was built and the other stuff.
I, also, have that quote too.

And about the bloopers. They would never put them on the DVDs.
But just try some P2P network. There are lots of great blooper reels around. I've got some from TOS, TNG, DS9 and VOY. None from ENT as yet.

Gene was the one in the habit of releasing the gag reels. If I remember right, that really pissed off Nimoy. They're supposed to just be a little in-house tension breaker thrown together by the post crew for the Christmas party or season wrap party.

But anyway, when the gag reel for first-season TNG came out, there was some kind of unholy stink. I think Nimoy was still riding his clout after TVH. Might have been the cast of TNG that had a problem. I don't remember. All I know is that TPTB said "no more Trek gag reels". So all you're ever going to find are the few outtakes that get slipped into some behind-the-scenes special (i.e., those same few DS9 and VOY bloopers making the rounds).

I can't remember what this was on, but I've seen some outtakes of Voyager where Tim Russ keeps nailing Kate Mulgrew in the face with spit wads as she's trying to deliver a line.

It was funny.
