Hmmmm... I just thought that, funny enough, a tin foil hat may actually work as protection against one of those weapons.

You may want to purchase stock in Alcan Aluminum though.....

"Active Denial"? "Vigilant Eagle"?? The level of doubleplusgood-speak and "Yeehaw!"-factor involved in these projects really scare me. Especially when Active Denial will so obviously be used as a torture device.

Laser strikes sounds cool, though. I imagine one mounted in the nose of a A-10 Thunderbolt. Preferably a Sovereignized one.

What's scary is that it will probably be totally soundless, pretty creepy. Unless the lightspeed beam behaves the same as a lightning bolt, which would be weird but also cool, in a way.

So I guess you're not going to like Operation Woman Scorned, huh?

While this all neat and cool and could be very beneficial, I can't help but shiver that some of the methods could produce truly horrific results if something messes up. For example, the Active Denial System. It's basically microwaving you. That really creeps me out.

"Basically, it fires a bolt of lightning. It can be tuned to blow up explosives, possibly to stop vehicles and certainly to buzz people."
...
"At present, StunStrike is a 20-foot tower that can zap things up to 28 feet away. The next step is to shrink it so it could be wielded by troops and used in civilian locales like airplane cabins or building entrances."

Or by people who want to hide it in their shirt sleeves and pretend to be Emperor Palpatine...

Such issues recently led the Pentagon to delay its Project Sheriff, a plan to outfit vehicles in Iraq with a combination of lethal and nonlethal weaponry including a highly touted microwave-energy blaster that makes targets feel as if their skin is on fire.
Sounds like the agonizer booth from the Mirror universe.

One needs to get their priorities in order. Music before food, of course!
