Good God, man! Do you write Nigerian scam emails in your spare time? Sort yourself out, you're all over the place.

My son did the posting for me he is only 14 years old. Was excited in letting the forum know about my return. I was not there when he posted...

No undue offense intended, but... "only" 14?

When I started posting here I was "only" 14 and I was a helluva lot more coherent than that...

My wife and I were just discussing that we've been *online* for 14 years.

Thanks for making me feel old.

Sweet. I'm so using that one. [Wink]

Posted by Cartman (Member # 256) on :

Yeah, so how does that work, anyway? You're saying that your son

1) knows which message boards you visit,
2) has your password to each of them,
3) is aware of all your big online plans, and
4) likes to post and maintain PR in your name.

Does this seem like an even slightly credible story to you?

I'm more confused about him having a 14 year old that doesn't think everything he does is lame.

If the site doesn't go live on time, what will the excuse be? His dog ate it?

His dog ate the light blue splotches.

My word, we're all bitchy today, aren't we?

Well, I for one am looking forward to 21 decks' worth of plans on the E/E-A.

Gotta have something to the withdrawal pangs now that TrekPulse is down for good.

It's gone, is it? Why?

Posted by Johnny (Member # 878) on :

Bollocks. According to the statement on the main page it's due to politics with the people who worked on the site, some server problems and Paramount breathing down their necks. That was a bloody useful resource.

Well, Will Gerard Gilso seems to have done some good work before on Flare, and all in 10 posts.
Or is it his son that is named Will?

The third post in this thread (regarding the closing of his former site) gets a whole new meaning in this post-ROTS world we live in today.

I don't get the Gilso haters on Flare. I really don't know. Some of you guys pick on him like he's a door to door salesman.

Here you go, Timo: The Star Trek LCARS Blueprints Database Third set down on the left is the David Schmidt E-A set.

Gooden appetite. [Big Grin]

D'Oh! Just clicked on one of the pic links and discovered that those all go to a link to contact David Schmidt. I've got the set and recommend them, tho won't intimate that they're 100% accurate. They're certainly the nicest set of E-A deck plans I've got in my collection, tho.

We dont hate Gerard! We're just asses. [Wink]

I have all his stuff saved as reference on my computer- though I disagree wih his size on the Sabre, I find everything else incredible.

We all lamented the loss of his website the first time around and had a whole thread on it.

Gerard, any chance you will offer high res versions of your fleet charts? I tried to print one on a large format plotter at work a while back but it was pretty choppy larger than 11x17".

Fuuuck. I'd have saved them had I known...well, the starship stuff anyway.
I kept hoping for them to do caps of WOTW.

Good luck with the new hosting plan, Gerard! I hope you have a decent amount of free traffic.

Certain factors have always made the operation of this website that much harder and less achievable. Among these are the high costs involved in running the site, the huge amount of time involved, the new server technical problems, the unnecessary politics involved in daily operations and last but not least the ever increasing and recent legal/copyright warnings and restrictions which make running a website based on Star Trek much more difficult and perilous.
This sucks. But it's so true. They named the exact reasons why running a big site is so hard.

I have always hated Gerard, and I always will. I can never forgive him for the death of my boy.

You can always patch and re-inflate him, you know.

Jason: every now and then, it might be a good idea to clean out your pm-box...I cant send you a private message, it says you box is full..I got your message btw, both of them, and thanks!!! Look forward to it.

Isn't that his girlfriend???

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

Here, we have a classic example of American over-eargerness. If you had simply gone with "Isn't that his girlfriend?" I would have chuckeld. But by overloading the statement with 3 (three!) question marks, you draw attention to it and make it seem too keen to please. When someone has something funny to say, they should never come across as "oooh, I've just thought of something brilliant you must hear it you will laugh!". Instead, they must pretend that they say funny stuff all the time, and that their latest joke is a throwaway comment that will be supersceded by whatever piece of wit they will say next. Only then will people appreciate you as a clever smug bastard.

Posted by Cartman (Member # 256) on :

Don't wait two weeks before making it, though, or everyone will have long forgotten the context of the joke and just quietly think you are a dimwitted fool.

Posted by Toadkiller (Member # 425) on :

But wait a minute, Liam took two weeks to respond to Ritten!

Oh I get it that's a joke - right???

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

That is Liam's clever smug bastardness showing.... er, wit.....
