I was wondering if there was anyone out there that makes dedication plaques. If you do, please contact me via ICQ or e-mail, cause I'd like one done up, if it wouldn't be too much trouble.

Also, if anyone has any dedication plaques, why not post them here for the whole world to see?!

Why no Gene Roddenberry? And why does it say NCC, not NX?

Federation shipmaster, the reason the registry is NCC-74222 and not NX-74222 is that the ship has finished it's test run and has been commissioned. This happened to the Excelsior. While it was experimental, it had the NX registry and then later under Sulu's command was changed to NCC. Now, I know the Defiant is still NX, but that is simply because it's too costly for the effects team on DS9 to change it, thus making all previous stock footage unusable where you can see it.

Y'Know I get the impression that there are several persons here claiming to be the Captain of the USS Sovereign.

I guess each one manages to miss the others by a few minutes on the bridge, and the crew has to repeatedly repaint the hull "NX" or "NCC" and rotate from "74222" to "75025", whilst remaining in utter confusion as to who is in charge...

Yes, but it's a dedication plaque. It's put in when the ship is first launched.

Was the Excelsior's dedication plaque changed when the registry prefix was? I don't know...

You're right. I meant the commisioning plaque.
