You're either going to like this one, or REALLY hate it...
The design still complies with the 'Starfleet' design methods, if you look at it the right way.......

Well here it is:

Front

Guess ones what name I gave to this class...

BTW: This is NOT meant as a joke, but as an ATTEMPT to stretch the limits of designs with a 'Starfleet-look'.

That's what I was about to say, but Netscape froze up and Sunspot beat me to it.

But aren't there rules about the placement of warp nacelles to the ships center of gavitity?

I don't exactly know what you mean by 'gag', but this is an attempt at a serious design. And if you turn the front-view 90degr. (with the nacelles upward or downward) you'll see that it does comply with the 'Starfleet' design method.

And yes Sunspot, you're right. I call this the Outrider Class

I'd like to know if you think this idea can work, or if it is crap. Be honest!!

BTW: Due to the Yahoo/Geocities 'thing' I'll be relocating this, and other designs soon. The links above will be fixed when I'm done.

Wouldn't only one nacelle seriosly lower the ships top speed?

Whats wrong? Ain't gonna live forever, never worrying about dying cuz it can't be any better. But Whatever happens, happens, always happens for the worst. If the worst is yet to happen I hope it happens to you first. -BHG

I think it would work, since there is no up/down limitations in space.

I can't really explain it, but I like how the ship looks!

I hope this will give some ideas to other kitbashers...

I'm working on several new asymmetrical ideas now, but you don't have to worry, I am making sure that the end result (if it works out) will be somewhat less radical than this design.

I am also working on other kitbashes (standard symmetrical designs) that look like ships from other Sci-Fi things.
