Many people have seen stuff relating to the collaborative sci-fi project that some of us are working on, but I've decided to compile the currently existing material into one post here.

If you're not familiar with this, it's basically our own sci-fi universe that anyone can contribute to. If anyone else is interested, let me know. The basics of the galaxy are still being established at this point, so it's a great time to join in.

The Map Script. This is a map of the galaxy we're working with. Blue dots are uninhabited stars, red dots are stars with some sort of permanent presence (usually a space station or stations) and the green dots are stars with inhabited planets. Each region is 500x500 lt-yrs, with one lt-yr^2 per pixel. The regions themselves represent one pixel in the galaxy image, which is based on the actual galaxy NGC 1365, AKA The Great Barred Spiral Galaxy. Mal'kath Station and Boldarmai are Elim's creation, The Terminal is Krenim's, the Hurae are TSN's, and most of the others are mine, although I'll only be dealing with Pawrinao at the moment. There's also Fabrux's Suraai (covered in a previous post) at coordinates 268,313 or so.

There's a chart of Astamir ships, with a detailed image of the cruiser. The large carrier is Fabrux's creation, also.

The Pawrinao ships are in separate images: Frigate, Carrier, Destroyer, Cruiser, Cruiser 2, Battleship, and are all in a comparison image.

Finally, I've begun on a story, although this is just the first part, and needs some additional language and chronology information that I'll post soon.

More to come once I put it on the Web.

"We've got some new songs here that are not even on the MP3 thing. They're not available in any format, except of course the bootlegs that seem to proliferate all through our audience, as we watch people lip-synch along to songs that HAVEN'T BEEN RELEASED! DAMN YOU!" - John Linnell

Death before Dishonor!
However Dishonor has
quite a disputed defintion.

Here's a language pronunciation guide (these are the languages that most of the names of people and places are in). The adjective form of the language name (if applicable) is in parentheses.

Here are some ships that Serok has drawn. (Kuron'Tok is at 219,332 on the map script.)

Interesting. If only I were not too immersed into Star Trek.

Well, part of the idea is to allow people to be creative without using the Trek universe, which is defined by another source (Paramount).

I'm working on a video game based on the sci-fi project. Frank and Garak can vouch for the fact that it's quite nice.

Indeed...I can't wait until it's done.

*looks for voucher* Uh-oh... Ah... There it is... *vouches for the quality of Krenim's RPG*

Any new material?

If the government has no knowledge of aliens, then why does Title 14, Section 1211 of the Code of Federal Regulations, implemented on July 16, 1969, make it illegal for U.S. citizens to have any contact with extraterrestrials or their vehicles?

Well, the demo version of the RPG is nearing completion, but I don't have a date of release yet.

Indeed...I can't wait until it's complete. Also, we have decided to name the project "Distant Horizon," combining suggestions from Jeff Raven and Serok.
