Hawkeye class reconnaissance frigate

Meeting the Klingons for the first time made the Federation jumpy. The above vessel was designed to monitor Klingon space and give advanced warning in case of attack. It was eventually superceded by a series of starbases and monitoring stations along the Klingon border.
