The middle Perimeter ship has potential!

I like two and three. Make three a little less Voyager-esque and you might be on to something.

Definitely 2 and 3.

And don't sell yourself short... I'd be THRILLED just to be able to draw to that level.

I think they're all pretty designs. They do need a bit of refinement, but I think you've done a good job.

The Hyperion strikes me as a shorter but a bit bulkier Nova class. I like the beefed-up look of the nacelles and how the secondery hull has been slimmed down. It doesn't provoke the "pregnant bug" thought that goes in my mind when I see the side view of the Nova.

I really like the Perimeter! It's an Akira-fied Intrepid. Very good design here.

I like the Sterling, too. It's a blending of elements frm the Defiant (with the close-in nacelles) and the Intrepid. The only thing that kinda bothers me about this design is that I think the nacelles are too short (true, this has always bothered me about the Intrepid, too). Although feel free to ignore this comment; I just find longer nacelles more aesthetically pleasing.

I also like the Schiff. I think that this and the Perimeter are the two best designs of this group. I like the Sovereign-esque look to this ship.

I think that they are all good solid designs. You've certainly done better with these than I have ever done designing a ship.

Oh, and welcome to Flare!

It's right there.

Yeah, now it is...but in my first post it's not there for some reason. And now it's gone in this post as well...

Those all look pretty good, Lobo. Are your shuttlecraft designs supposed to be a bridge to runabouts or simple shuttles? If they're simple shuttles, it seems odd that they have a phaser strip. All the E-E shuttle and Danube runabout had were single point emitters. But those are still excellent designs.

Gotta be honest, I only like the Perimeter ship.
(probably a matter of taste).

But your skill with MSDs is outstanding.

Lobo, may I attempt to create a mesh of http://members.tripod.de/MrBrown5/perimeter.jpg ? if I finalize/release it, I will give you on-image credit.

i'm taking my computer to a mini-lan party tonight, some of us graphic buffs will take a look at it. Personally, its one of the best designs Ive seen in a long time.

Very cool stuff. I too tend to favor the Perimeter ship. A couple of places need refining, but overall, really very good.

A point on the MSD (which I think is fantastic!) is that the horizontal turbo-shafts need to be deck height and no narrower. Think of it, a turbolift must be a little over 8 feet high, so the shafts should be just a touch thicker than that.

hi
@Siegfried
yes they are normal shuttles.should is replace the
phaser strips with single point emitters?

@Daniel
thx i will fix it!

Yup! You got it! Wow, I wish I could do that. And the dedication plaque looks cool!

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

Well, Lobo, your shuttlecraft designs look really good. I was just pointing out that we haven't seen a shuttle equipped with phaser strips. The only shuttles we've seen firing phasers have been the Type 8, Type 6, Voyager Type 9/Class 2 and Sovereign shuttle from Insurrection. All of these shuttles fired from single point emitters.

But, it could be possible to have phaser strips on shuttlecraft. Just because we haven't seen it doesn't mean it's not possible. So, to answer your question, I don't know whether you should or shouldn't. The phasers look good on your shuttles, and to remove them could possibly detract from the overall look. So do what you feel is appropriate to your idea.

I think the Delta Flyer has strips.

Posted by Spike (Member # 322) on :

The Defiant-shuttle Chaffee and the Voyager-shuttle Cochrane have strips too.

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

Umm... Okay, nevermind me then.

Looks nice. It looks like it's based off Voyager's bridge, with E-E ops/conn styled stations.

Posted by Aban Rune (Member # 226) on :

Kickin' bridge! What does the quote on the plaque say? I can't read it.

Posted by Lobo (Member # 669) on :

Hi
It says: "There will be an answer, let it be"
or have anyone a better quote?

Posted by Aban Rune (Member # 226) on :

Well, that one has been used on one of the real plaques. I don't remember which one, but I'm pretty sure it's been used. And yah, I use better quotes on all the ships I've come up with

Posted by Mr. Christopher (Member # 71) on :

That quote was on the USS Sutherland's dedication plaque.

Posted by Spike (Member # 322) on :

And on the Phoenix's IIRC.

Posted by Lobo (Member # 669) on :

here are new Quotes:
"It is made to go into future..."
or
"Don't look back, look at the future..."

How about: "Wherever you go, there you are." Seriously, though. Great designs well executed, Lobo.

That one's on the Excelsior.

Posted by Austin Powers (Member # 250) on :

Lobo: I thought it read "Mge der Friede immer sicher sein". Am I mistaken? Sounds interesting to use a German phrase. Wasn't there a Russian one on the dedication plaque of the U.S.S. Tsiolkovsky?

LOBO!

I love this ship! It is amazing...it is everything I have ever looked for in a starship!

The majesty of the Galaxy meets the sexy lines of the Sovereign...I love this design

Any chance I could use it for my Star Trek Campaign?

I am also trying to get a 3D Model made as we speak. If that comes through I will make sure you get all the credit for the design and that the image is sent to you as well

Great work man, keep it up
