This part is from the same writing project that involve the Cha'Mondor. The whole story is a bit complicated and......wierd. Well. Here's the little breifing part of the story. Please excuse my misspelling of some of the planet's names.

.....Commander Jason walked into the conference room and saw that it was flooded with cammanding officers of several starships, plus many other high ranking officers from starfleet. The confrence room looked very similar to a theater stage with all the seats lined up in a curved pattern. There was small podium and large display screen at the front of the room. There was a lot of clamoring going on between the many officers. Jason looked around and saw his commanding officer, Captian Reed, and proceeded to walk towards him.

"Mind if I sit next to you, sir?" Jason asked.

Reed turned his and and simled, "Sure Ben!" Reed said enthusiastically, "This incedent that occured sounds serious. Whatever that thing was has unbeleiveable abilities."

Just then an older, fairly tall woman walked towards the podium at the front of the confrence room. According to the insigna she was wearing, she was a 4 star admiral.

"Everyone. Please be seated," she stated with a very serious tone.

Everyone sat down and the clamoring ended. The room was very quiet.

The Admiral began to talk, "Good morning. My name is Admiral O'Hera. Approxematly 32 hours ago, a small unidentified object was detected in Earth orbit. All atempts to find out what this object was has failed. Whatever this object was, it had the ability to jam all the sensor and communications in the solar system. Through out the duration of the incedent, the object also managed to knock out all of our major defense systems. We do not know as to how the object managed to do this.

The object was obviously here on a data gathering mission of some type. It has managed to take all of the data we had including classified data from most of the computer cores located within this system. All the encryption blocks we had on the classified data didn't even phase the object.

All we have on the object is this video we have right here from spacedock and several other ships in the vicinity."

The large display screen behind the admiral fliped on and started to show video of the object in action.

"The blue beams of light that you see coming from the object is how it managed to take all the data stored in our computer cores.

Earth isn't the only world this object has hit however. We are reciving reports that this object or, at least, identical objects have done the same thing on Quo'nos, Romulus, Remus, Tholia, Ferenginar, Cardassia, Bajor, Shelia, and the Gorn, Breen and Dominion homeworlds. None of the other powers, as far as our knowledge goes, has had any further luck at attempting to figure out what the object's intent was. Untill we have a better understanding of the situation, we have no choice, but to consider it to be hostile in nature. We are now in a Federation wide yellow alert. Should any other encounters with these things are to occur, the people involved should report it immediatly. Dismissed."

The clamoring started up again as everyone got up and began to leave the confrence room........

Actually, this is a story, not a speech.

I like this one, too. You really do need to run it through a spell checker, but it had a good pacing and good premise. The characterizations also seem a bit more solid here than in the Cha'Mondor narrative, especially Admiral O'Hera.

I was never any good at spelling. If I wound up at a spelling bee, I would get my ass kicked so bad.

As I stated before. Kim's log entry and the speach scene you just read through is all part of the same story. What happened in between the 2 parts is interesting. 3 new races are involved in my story including the Cha'Mondor.
