That is actually pretty damn good. Is the ear meant to look pointed?

Posted by Malnurtured Snay (Member # 411) on :

His ear doesn't look pointed, but it would be oh so ubercool if it did.

Posted by Proteus (Member # 212) on :

damn... you wernt supposed to notice that.

Good eye.

PS: It is slightly pointed, I had a version with full romulan features, but it didnt look right... and was a bit spoilerish... so I just made the changes very subtle.

Well, the title logo art at startrek.com is most likely something unofficial the web team there cooked up.

And, aspiring postermakers take note, the lead credits which'll be reproduced along the bottom of the poster should look like the following, assuming they stay pretty close to the precedent set by the last three features:

PARAMOUNT PICTURES presents
a RICK BERMAN Production
a STUART BAIRD Film*
STAR TREK: NEMESIS
Patrick Stewart
Jonathan Frakes
Brent Spiner
LeVar Burton
Michael Dorn
Gates McFadden
Marina Sirtis
Tom Hardy
Ron Perlman
Dina Meyer
Casting by Cathy Sandrich Gelfond & Amanda Mackey Johnson**
Music by Jerry Goldsmith
Associate Producer Patrick Stewart***
Co-Producer Peter Lauritson
Costume Designer Bob Ringwood
Edited by Dallas Puett, A.C.E.****
Production Designer Herman Zimmerman
Director of Photography Jeffrey L. Kimball, A.S.C.****
Executive Producer Martin Hornstein
Based upon "Star Trek" Created by Gene Roddenberry
Story by John Logan & Rick Berman & Brent Spiner
Screenplay by John Logan
Produced by Rick Berman
Directed by Stuart Baird

Notes:
* = whether Baird gets an "a ___ film" credit basically hinges on how well he's being paid.
** = there's some conflicting word on whether the usual Lowry-Johnson/Surma combo were casting as well
*** = its unclear if Stewart's back with a producer credit this time
**** = generally, editors and cinematographers have these professional certification thingoes after their names, but these guys mightn't.

How the logo changed for the next poster (if it will keep with the usuall logo format) isnt known.

as for the cast... mabye i'll change it. Dont want it looking TOO official.. hehe.

edit: uploaded a larger version...

IIRC, the marker board had Star Trek in red and Nemesis in green below, actually. But that'll have essentially nothing to do with the official title logo, which someone at Paramount publicity will probably dream up in several months time.

really? I remember seeing the generations and first contact markerboards.. the First Contact logo was the same one that appeared in the movie.. as was the Generations one.

I suspect the guest cast would go Dina Meyer, Tom Hardy, and Ron Perlman. Meyer is much better known than Hardy (who ranks up - or down - there with Orlando Bloom for sheer obscurity) while Perlman is an established character actor.

*shakes Proteus' hand*

Very, very nice.

On thing you might try...line the two planets up so that a line runs through the centers at the same angle as the colored streaks. I'm not sure how it'll look. It might look a bit too all lined up... but it might tighten everything up all the more too.

Your Photoshop technique is great, though.

As is yours apparently, because thats how I originally had the planets. But you were also correct that it loked too lined up... so I decreased the opacity of the streaks in that area.

Dina Meyer?!

Quick, Sol, real quick.

Ron Perlman?!??

one can only hope it'll be a cameo as

Captain Vincent Wells. [Smile]

What really weirds me about this is that since Julie is a big BatB fan as well as a Trek fan, I'd been working on creating a Vincentlike (in appearance and abilities) character for the solo Trek RPG I'm running with her.

Did I put the wrong name in my "shakes hand" post...I could've sworn it was "Proteus" who posted the pic...

Man...I need to lay off the opium before I post...

What's all this 'Final' stuff.. we arent really giving credence to the fact that a lousy internet rumor says this will be the last film, are we?! doesnt seem likely..

http://us.imdb.com/Name?Meyer,+Dina

This Dina Meyer, of "Starship Troopers? Sounds like a great career move! Do I get to be in The Omega Code with Van Diem, too?" infamy? Why? What have we done to deserve this?

Aban: Proteus did post it. And then he changed his name to "Wes". Some people don't like to have other people be able to remember who they are. I don't get it, myself.

Posted by Proteus (Member # 212) on :

Blah! I dont know. I was thinking about changing it to wes, but whatever.

I am Proteus aka Wes1701E aka Wes...

there.

Thanks for the comments.

No, i dont think its the last movie. "Final" and "Last" seem to be a constant in IMDB's listing for Nemesis' Tagline.

I dont belive it myself, but whatever

Posted by Aban Rune (Member # 226) on :

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

Ok, then.

Posted by The_Tom (Member # 38) on :

IMDb's tagline listings for Nemesis are a pure crock, actually. Invented by fanboys and then submitted for jollies. Again, Paramount's marketing arm will come up with those, and not until the spring at the earliest.

Maybe the word to use is "ultimate" - the ultimate enemy, etc. And Section31 posted a snippet of an interview with Stewart where he said this needn't be the last film. . . Perhaps "The penultimate enemy" works better. 8)
