THIS is what I do instead of watching "Similitude". I sit in a bar thinking about Trek. [Razz]

...Thus proving once again that no surface is safe from the relentless encroachment of advertisers.

Oh, that's easy. A Tuborg Sphere, now. . . 8)

If the Borg assimilated Germany...

Assimilate a few people, have a beer, repeat.

It's the Borg beer drinking game: every time Picard has a thoughtful introspective moment, take a drink.

Except you'd be pretty sober if you just watched the movies.

Oh, I dont know....Generations has that whole emotional breakdown scene and Inn has the moment with Geordi on the bridge.
Those'd give you a buzz if nothing else.

So, numbers like "Seven of Nine" actually indicate how far along you are on the pub crawl?

Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :

No, Borg don't have six-packs... they have either 5 or 9 packs [Smile]

Oh and by the way Jason, Tuborg is not German beer, it is Danish.
Although I do realize the average US citizen wouldn't know the difference anyway... [Razz]

Oh, that reminds me. . .

I'm always amazed at the way Americans, whose ethnic mix includes some of the greatest beer-brewing nations, such as Germany, Belgium, Holland, Britain and the Czech Republic, should consume vast quantities of flavourless widdle.
I'm actually off to Prague for the weekend. Looking forward to trying some good beers. 8)

I'm not into beer... I prefer cocktails and mixed drinks. And I do know there is some difference between Denmark and Germany... too bad I am a naturalized American.

Let's see some Absolut Borg ads!!!

Soon you'll all be one united (and squabbling) Europe.... ripe for the picking!!!)
PAX AMERIKANA!

Actually not all American made beer sucks. If you can try to get some Black Butte Porter. It was made by a Bend, OR brewery but has since been bought by Anheuser. Still it is a damn good beer.

The best beer is "James Boags" Beer... from Tasmania.

I like Fosters myself.
Sam Adams is good too.

"American beer" is an oxymoron.

Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :

Yes Fosters is an American beer - not Australian anymore... no one drinks that crud here.

Tuborg, Carlsberg and Grolsch are probably my fav lagers.
My new favorite Porter is a polish upstart, Black Boss.
Great together with some dark chocolate or a select assortment of cured meats.

Sam Adams? I assumed it was Sam pissing into a bottle. It's crap.

I liked going to different places and trying their micro brews, there are some really good ones out there.

THen after half my life I thought being sober would be different.... I was right, but it isn't much better....

BEER !!

Posted by Fleet-Admiral Michael T. Colorge (Member # 144) on :

So the Borg aren't Sweedish but Danish...

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 138) on :

Usually American beer like Budweiser is cheap. Most bars here have domestic pints for a dollar. Although I generally prefer Bass.

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

Yes, a fishy tasting beer that leaves a low thrum in your head....

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

Better than a hook in your mouth...

Grolsch is a good beer.

Posted by Austin Powers (Member # 250) on :

@Hobbes: You call 1 dollar a pint cheap??

Oh and about the Borg: of course they are Danish. That's even been semi-confirmed by on-screen dialogue. Remember what Lily said in FC?:
"Definitely not Swedish". [Wink]

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 138) on :

Yeah, when all the other bars in the Pacific Beach and Gaslamp districts in San Diego charge $3-5 for cheap crap like Budweiser.

Posted by Austin Powers (Member # 250) on :

Well, that's understandable then.

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

It's what you deserve for jerking around the Gaslight District.
Why not just frequent the "Charge me too much" district?
Try the red light district next time: cheaper beer and more intresting people.
Tip: bring cash. [Wink]

Posted by Austin Powers (Member # 250) on :

Actually I am glad I come from a country where good beer is the norm rather than the exception, available at cheap prices without me having to go to strange districts... [Razz]

Oh, and I rarely use cash.
