These short articles were written by Bernd. TSN apparantly completed a Ptolemy diagram, but I don't have it.

Hermes/Saladin

The Saladin and Hermes are two nearly identical single-nacelled ship types from the Star Fleet Technical Manual; neither the design nor any of the two names is officially confirmed. The reason why they are listed here is that one of them briefly appeared on a computer screen in Star Trek II, so in canon Trek it might be anything from an actually built ship to a never realized design sketch. It is not clear which of the two classes was actually on screen. For both classes the Star Fleet Technical Manual gives lots of names and registries, of which the U.S.S. Revere NCC-595 (Hermes class) was mentioned in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, although there is no canon evidence that it belongs to this class.

Known Hermes/Saladin ships:
No name or registry known

Occurences:
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (appearance, but not class confirmed)

Ptolemy

The class name "Ptolemy", the design and its function as a tug are from the non-canon Star Fleet Technical Manual; none of which is officially confirmed. The reason why the ship type is listed here is that it briefly appeared on a computer screen in Star Trek II, so in canon Trek it might be anything from an actually built ship to a never realized design sketch.

Known Ptolemy ships:
No name or registry known

Occurences:
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (appearance, but not class confirmed)
