to all who post please make sure your off site posts work.it annoyes me when you click on a topic and find the post comes back a error and nothing there.i have addressed this problem to the foruom moderators and nothing was done about it per the forum rules.so its up to the people who post to make sure there posts work right and no errors.to those who do the art work and its many keep up the goodwork i have been lurking a while for the art and when its posted right its great.thanks a bunch hope from now on the posts work right.

I'm not sure why the forum moderators would be responsible for making sure all links to each poster's image depository work. I mean, that wasn't in the job description The_Tom gave me when I was asked to join the crew. Supply the bearded one with blueberry Pop-Tarts, make sure Abbadon following the restraining order, and persecute Snay unfairly I remember from the paperwork, but there was nothing on links.

Also, keep in mind there could be a myriad of problems causing a link not to work outside of a poster making a spelling mistake in the URL tags. Server downtime, account lockouts, DNS propagation, data center power failures, and the like are all possible causes and (unless one is running his or her own server) outside of a poster's hands.

Plus, as a new member, you cant view old links until you have over 1000 posts.

thanks for the heads up.just thought it was me with the posts not comeing up.while there might be other reasons for the links form diffrent posts not working is all.i just like veiwing different peoples art is all.just thought i bring it up is all.i have been a regular lurker for years just now be came a new membar.so excuse me if i sound green i hope i didnt offend anyone with my post just thought i bring it up is all.to everybody who does art keep it up theres some real talent here thanks.

I was only kidding ya- there is no posting requirement to view old links.

I thought about keeping you on the line like a fish though....really, I did.

Geez....we're a hive of sarcasm and villiany but those old links really are gone for the reasons Siggy mentioned.

Your best bet for viewing someone's old artwork if the link is broken is to PM them nad ask for a link.
Dont get frustrated if you dont get an immeadeate reply though-
Flarites are all over the globe and have many distractions besides the internet.
For example Mojo's on death row, LOA is moving to Alaska, Liam's a scientologist, Shik builds Lego, Reverend is addicted to porn, Aban's getting married and Charles is a defendant in that whole Worldcom mess.

All in all, a typical day at Flare.

Depending on how old the links in question are, it could just be a case of the site being gone. A couple places I used to link stuff from are gone for now, and I'm sure that many of the prolific artists here have either gone through multiple sites or even reorganized their site's file structure.

Plus, I think we're on the third iteration of the Flare Upload site. The first was a Virtual Ave site that was maintained by a member here (I wanna say Spike, but I'm not sure). It was deleted when Virtual Ave dumped its free service. The second was one Charles created at lobotomy.pleh.net. That one was moved to the current site, but all the links pointing to lobotomy are broken.
