Highlander: The Source, that is.

quote:
On the second anniversary of the release of “Endgame” we wanted to take a few moments to share with you, the ever-faithful fans, what is on the horizon in the Highlander universe.

First, we are excited to announce that the rumors are true. The story continues as the fifth motion picture is slated to begin filming early in 2003. We don’t want to reveal too much but we think that “The Source” is destined to be a truly exceptional Highlander film.

Take care and thanks for your continued support.

Peter Davis and Bill Panzer

Apparently this is old news. But I just heard. And provided the movie is written by David Ambromowitz, it might actually be good (compared to Endgame).

Being someone that has only watched the second movie, and snippets of the first and the series......I give this a hearty "eh".

i used to watch the series religiously. then the third season came on (or maybe it pulled a SeaQuest and the second season fucked it up...i can't remember).

The third, fourth, and fifth seasons of Highlander were the strongest. The sixth season was absolute crap ... especially since Duncan didn't even appear in two or three episodes!

The first and second were a mixed bag. They had some truly excellent episodes ... Band of Brothers, Innocent Man, Unholy Alliance, Legacy, and Prodigal Son spring to mind ... and they also had some really crappy episodes. The pilot, which also featured Chris Lambert, was totally crappy.

But by the third season ... a stride was hit. Excellent episodes ... the swordfights were beautiful, the enemies were deadly, and they were some scripts to rival the best of any network drama.

And then they killed Richie at the end of the 5th season, just as he was becoming a really cool character and not just a whiny brat with a sword. And then an old Zoarstrian demon resurrected in Paris and ... oh, crap. Total crap.

The best line ever, tho ... Duncan is battling Kronos, leader of the Four Horseman (you know, from the Bible?).

Kronos: "I am the end of time!"

Mac: "You're HISTORY!"

Slash! Slice! Decapitation ... with a twist!

Wow, there is a line that would never appear in a direct-to-video Seagal flick about fighting loggers with kung fu.

I liked the Highlander series. Any television that revolves around decapitation is A-Okay in my book.

Christopher Walken as Robespierre?

He was great in "Sleepy Willow", he could totally do with a wig and white powder-makeup. His face looks like a mime's, too.

Sleepy Willow? Some kind of supernatural crossover?

The Headless Horsemidget?

Ah, sorry, I confused it with that old treebastard in the Tom Bombadil chapter.
