I'm slowly catching up on my Stargate. My girlfriend just bought me season 5. So my collection now includes Seasons 1,2,5 and 6.

I was watching "The Tomb" yesterday and see that Marduk had in his possession, The Eye of Tiamatt. Is this item related to The Eye of Ra from the season 6 finale where SG-1 goes up against Anubis on Abydos?

They said that Anubis had collected all the Eyes except Ra's, which means, if it's part of the series, Anubis must've dug the Eye of Tiamatt out of the rubble. A neat trick since they C4'd the whole place.

I've seen very little of season 7, so I don't know, have they mentioned the Eyes again at all?

Yeah, the Eye of Tiamat was one of the six (seven?) Anubis needed to power his superweapon, though that's never been explicitely mentioned onscreen. They were all destroyed when his uberwarship got wasted by Baal's fleet (or when the weapon's reactor core was nuked the episode before, I'm not sure).

So the eye of Tiamet is another System lords? Tiamet is another system lord? Was it the 'corpse' of that Goa'uld in the tomb in - "The Tomb"? Which culture does 'Tiamet' come from?

Tiamet comes from the little-known Diendee subculture. They were legendary for using multisided solids that were rolled around to decide their fates.

Tiamet was a Babylonian goddess. The guy in "The Tomb" was Marduk.

BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Any reference to 80's cartoons is automatically cool.

Yes, Marduk was the Snakehead from "The Tomb", which means that, at some point, Marduk must have overthrown or defeated Tiamat and nabbed her bling bling.

I kind of wish they would go into more detail about what these Eyes are, how they came into existence, etc. They seem pretty powerful. Maybe they were originally Furling tech.
