The Thing looks like the Golgotha turd-demon of "Dogma" (his face in particular looks like a scat session) and Doctor Doom has Force Lightning that would make Emperor Palpatine say "Hey, he has Force Lightning!!".

Apparently Doctor Doom is a close friend of the pre-FF group and gets his "powers" at the same time as the FF-gang.
Did Doom have natural powers in the mags? I thought he just had gadgets and a fucked-up face, the quintessential (organ-playing) Mad Scientist.

Also, Julian McMahon of "Charmed"-fame doesn't seem to be very Latvian, but I can't confirm that yet as he didn't speak.

I think Michael Chiklis has too high a voice to accurately portray The Thing, sounds like Michel Rooker almost.
I always imagined Ben Grimm with a basso rumble, I hope they alter his voice when he's in Human Turd-mode.

Reed Richards was nice, good stretchy-stretchy, Sue felt unimpressive, in fact the whole trailer was almost identical in pacing, sound and cuts to the "Hellboy"-trailer, standard cookie-cutter stoux.

I hope the movie isn't the same.

Doom has no powers at all (well, okay- he knows some magic and can do this "mind-switcheroo" thing on occasion) but his armor is just shy of Iron Man's for toughness and that electrical discharge is (in the comics) tough enough to take down the Thing (no, not the creature from the John Carpenter movie).

Doom and Reed were mates at uni. Except that Reed wanted to use his knowledge for good, and not ruling third world countries. Or something. I have an idea he might have fancied Sue, but I might be getting confused with Ben (who did fancy Sue).

With Jessica Alba playing Sue, who *wouldn't* fancy her?

Amen to that.

I believe Doom had a thing for her, especially considering the era in which the team was created. Woman in peril because the villain wants her is, like, stock plot #1 of the time.

Nothing about this movie sounds good, except for that McMahon guy, who is on Nip/Tuck, fools, not some Charmed show, who cares about the past?

Well, actually, the lead actor with the charmingly Welsh name is pretty good too, but I don't know.

He looks like a cross between Jon Stewart and Dr Bashir.

Jessica Alba is not hot.

Yah... that's probably true.

But Michael Chiklis!

True, Jessica Alba would be hot, but for Michael Chiklis.

That's the one who played Horatio Hornblower... Ioan Griffoud or somesuch...

Edit: IMdB lists him as "Ioan Gruffudd".

He should've been a pawn broker with a name like that.

Are there a lot of Welsh pawn brokers?

Hmmm....possibly.
