Okay, the Orii are gonna be toughies. Unlike the Goa'uld, whose technology was at least identifyable as such to Earth science, the Orii and their Priors use tricks which are only so much magic. This is a rare episode which shows SG-1 as the LOSERS in the story, but it serves to highlight how tough it will be to beat these guys. And probably resulting in a B5-esque deus battle, no doubt...

-You know, I almost think they should relocate the SGC these days. Nevermind the logic of putting the facility below NORAD headquarters, but in truth, the sets have been in place for NINE YEARS. We probably know them better than any ship named Enterprise. Moving the SGC would help give a refreshign new look to the show. Unfortunately, the budget of the show will not likely allow a wholesale set change at this late end of the game.

-Hey, is the energy field thing between Daniel and Vala is still in place? Or was it more like if she was executed, her "entourage" would also be killed?

-So, are the Priors being sent to various worlds here directly from the Orii's galaxy? Or are they setting up a base somewhere in this one? And more importantly, do they have a way back to that Galaxy - and can that sort of power be eventually adapted to power a direct link to Pegasus? I don't see that happening soon, given the incomprehensibility of the Orii's powers so far, but once they figure it out...

More later!

The link between Daniel and Vala would appear to still be active. That would explain why Mitchell had to persuade the natives to let Daniel stay in the room with the cell overnight.

Of course, at the beginning of the episode, Vala seemed to be running around the SGC with Daniel nowhere in sight, so maybe that's a sign the bond is weakening? It'll definitely be gone after next week, anyway.

Is it just me or have we seen two episodes that with almost the exact same plot, with no real plot advancement?

Well at least we now know the relationship between Landry and Lam.

I did notice that Daniel is currently wearing an SGC patch on his right shoulder while Michell is wearing the SG-1 version.

BTW, when was the last time Teal'c carried a staff weapon? There may no longer be a surplus of them, but it's certainly easier for him to get ahold of one now. Maybe the onslaught of the Replicators changed his mind?

Maybe he just realized that P90s were better weapons. In which case, it freakin' took him long enough.

Bollocks. Define "better." The P90 has a faster rate-of-fire, sure, but with its near-total lack of accuracy, you need that - firing off all those bullets increases the chance you might actually hit something.

I think Carter proved decicively that the P90 has *much* better accuracy than a staff weapon in "The Warrior". (If that was what she was shooting at the time?)

Yes, but she cheated by setting it to single-fire mode.

(Though, as far as accuracy goes, the P90 is a low-recoil submachine gun, and as such designed for spraying bullets at close range, whereas a staff weapon is the Jaffa equivalent of a hand cannon.)

Ooooh the Ori/Priors - bastards!

Liked this episode - it was a battle of wills and words and of the truth in a very difficult situation.

Vala is finally learning some... compassion? for the people she's dissed.

I think SG1 need to call on the power of the first slayer Ancient? [Smile]

The original Ancients are supposed to show up later on this season, including at least one familiar one, without spoiling things too much.

But at this time, short of actually granting our side some godlike powers to fight off the Orii with, they're pooched. Until Carter can work up some techno-wizardry, anyway.

Mind you, the Priors were supposed to be gathering an army. They will doubtless be conscripted from worlds that have been turned to the Orii, but will they in turn be provided with whatever the Orii pass for divine guns?Or will it be a case of the armies using whatever they have on hand instead? I'm guessing the latter, depending on how much the Orii are allowed to interfere...

I'm guessing that guy that was the leader of the last planet ends up in a future episode as a Prior (or even the first guy to be healed by that Prior).

One would assume that their weakness is their staff?

Anyone else notice Sokar and the Priors look the same. Although that was probably the intent as the Ancients made 'demonic images' like the Ori/Priors etc.

They don't look very similar to me at all.

OK maybe not THE SAME but similar.

Pale with hoods?

Perhaps Landru is the real guiding force here.
