Was away all last week, and just got done acquiring the new epsiode (airing now on TMC, a Canadian channel most of YOU guys don't get). Just skimmed over it, and will provide more insight later.

-Man, it's GOOD to have Atlantis back! This wasn't a great episode (as this franchise goes, it's actually a little weak), but it's good to see the gang back in action.

-The Wraith territiorial nature, and competitiveness, are made realy obvious here when they start fighting each other with only a little help from our heroes.

-The Wraith are bolstering their numbers... With humans. In exchange for worship and service, they allow throngs of humans to live. Shep finds this out when he doesn't fall for a human spy. The obvious twist here vs. the Goa'uld is that the Wraith aren't subjugating people through deification and technological restraint.

-Shep can fly a Dart without the translation computers now. Quick study.

-McKay escapes his predicament from last episode by overdosing on the Wraith enzyme and taking out his guards. However, the drug quickly reduces him to a jibbering mess, and he comes down hard right after making it back to Atlantis.

-The portside fighter bay aboard Daedalus has at least one borrowed puddle jumper, probably just for this episode. Still neat to see one deploy from an intrinsically inferior ship. [Smile]

-Speaking of which, while the Daedalus was away from Atlantis before, they've been tinkering with teh engines to make it go even faster if necessary, in emergencies. Doubt if it'll mean shorter transit times to Earth, though.

-Ford is SO not dead. Since he left the show, the character has never been so popular. He'll be back.

All I can say is, thank goodness for BitTorrent!

-- I really like the direction that they're taking the Wraith. With food supplies being so limited, it makes a lot of sense that they'd start fighting each other over the right to be first in line at the buffet.

-- I was watching this episode with some friends, and we got a phone call right during Shep's scene with the Wraith stooge human, and didn't rewind for various reasons. I'm sure I would've figured out what was going on on my own...

-- These new Human slaves also offer the opportunity for easier infiltration of Wraith ships and planets, unlike before...

-- I'd just like to say that McKay is awesome, and hands down my favorite Atlantis character. Even high on the enzyme, he still manages to convey six different emotions all at once. Kick ass.

-- Agreed that Ford is definitely still around and kicking. My only question would be... how would he have escaped? The Stargate was used by Shepard's bunch, and the Wraith almost certainly aren't smart enough to have carried a Stargate on their hive ship. I suppose he might've flown down or beamed down to the nearby planet, taking advantage of the confusion... Anyway, I'm sure we'll find out what happened to him in season three. [Big Grin]

Good episode. I particularly enjoyed the battle scene at the end with the two hive ships destroying one another.
