Andreas Katsulas has passed away at the age of 59. [Frown]

Sad news, very sad news. He was a fine actor, but... do you have an URL? I couldn't find the newspiece anywhere.

OMG! That's WAY too young!

God Speed Mr. Katsulas!

A B5 movie is looking more and more remote.

That's sad. The scene between him and Patrick Stewart in "The Defector" still sends chills down my back, and is my favorite of the entire series. So young, too.

He was really great- my second favorite Trek baddie (after Dukat).

He was great on B5 (obviously) but also in a bunch of smaler roles where he shined- like in Communion.

Fuuuuck. 59 is waaaay too young.

That's simply awful. That's ruined my day. The Curse of Babylon 5 returns with a vengeance.

I *LOVE* G'Kar's speech that ended season 3 of Babylon 5 - at the end of Za'Ha'Dum. THAT sends shivers down my spine! Brilliant stuff.

I agree with the Defector bit with Picard... You were seriously frightened by his intent to take the Enterprise back to Romulus and display it's broken hull in the capital! That was just on the other night on cable. Great stuff. That's a very good TNG episode. Actually just an aside - I think TNG Season 3 has to be the most cosistant and best of the TNG seasons.

One of my favorite G'Kar scenes was right after the Centauri attack on the Narn Homeworld. Lenear is riding in the elevator with G'Kar. When Lenear apologizes for the attack and devestation, G'Kar takes a knife, cuts his hand and, with each drop of blood says "dead" over and over again. Then he asks how do you apologize to them?

"Do you want to be president?"
". . . Yes?"
"Then put your hand on the book and say 'I do!'"
"I do!"
"Fine, done, let's eat!"

I never really got into B5, but I always liked seeing G'Kar on screen, he had such a presence. And it was always cool to spot the actor out of his make-up in other shows. 59 really is too young to go. [Frown]

Herb: Vir, not Lenier. Put your face in the book.

G'Kar was possibly my favourite B5 character. RIP Mr Katsulas.

Sad. Agreed, way too young to go.

I would have loved to have seen a *true* Romulan threat TNG movie with him as the primary antagonist. Pity.

Yeah, he should have at least have been either the one behind the military's coup or the one to assist Enterprise.

...as much as i lie Dina Meyer, that part should have been Tomalok.

I'm going to have to watch "The Long Twilight Struggle" on DVD tonight. The scene where G'Kar is ejected from the Council after the surrender of his government is probably his most powerful single moment.

"No dictator... no invader... can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against that power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free."

*shiver*
