Good film. Not brilliant, but enjoyable. Heck, I didn't even mind Jar-Jar. But certain questions need to be asked:

1. This has come up already. . . the traced signal. It looks to me like bad continuity. . . there should have been something to explain it.

2.And why was Padme seen later watching the signal? Was it because she wasn't in fact on the ship the first time the signal was viewed?

3. I've always though that R2D2 must have known a lot more than he let on in the later films, and a lot more than C3PO. How can Threepio not recognise the planet he was created on? I'm assuming that something in later films will explain all this, as well as covering how he rejoins the team.

4. Was the decoy Queen also played by Portman? I assume so. . . you couldn't see the join!

5. So if the droid troopers are all controlled by the ship, how can they be so autonomous?

And I never thought I'd be so pleased to see that annoying little droid again - as soon as he told them his name, the whole cinema started clapping!

1. Are you asking how it was traced? If it's send through a method like email, Maul/Sidious might be able to track the message as it bounced around the galaxy.

2. Well, yes.

3. Actually, they were both probably fully aware of the previous events in ANH on, but just didn't mention it. R2-D2 can't talk, of course, and relies on translations from C-3PO. And C-3PO doesn't always tell the whole truth, often because he's instructed to...in ANH he said he didn't know who Leia was, even though the radio play shows that he did, but was told not to reveal this. See this page for more info.

4. I'm not sure...I've heard that she was played by, appropriately, one of the handmaidens, at least in the scenes when the Queen wasn't really the Queen.

5. Some of them were...see this page for more info.

*scratches head* In the end credits, Natalie Portman is credited for an "Amidala/Padm" role.

Well, yes, she was both. But half the time the Queen wasn't the Queen, remember.

Padme/queen was in town with Qui-Gon when the signal came in, I don't really know why they used a scene to show her watching the transmission. I also thought that The Dark siders may have had a mole on tatooine who really tipped them off that something was up, but I have no basis for that.

WHO ARE YOU?

1. Can't explain

2. This one either.
3. C-3PO probably had his memories erased between masters. Programming kept, but master memories erased.

4. Yes.

5. I dunno, different computers controlled by the central.

4. Uh...I don't think it was Portman. My SW fanatic friend told me they (the handmaidens) just all look alike, plus she had all that makeup on.
