It's out, and on "Monsters, Inc."

Anyone found a place on the net to download it from? Short of registering at StarWars.com.

Anyway ... I hope it's cool ...

Nyah nyah! I didn't have to pay $5 or wait for it to download to see it! I saw on my local FOX station half an hour ago. Awesome! I'll see the movie. I saw in the trailer:
$
$
$
$
$
$
$
$
$
(I guess)
Boba Fett, lots of droids, Yoda, Mace Windu, a huge transport ship, a battle in the skies of Coruscant, an asteroid field, and Alderaan's surface, I believe.

Droids? You mean C-3PO and R2-D2? I don't think they qualify as "lots" ...

Now, resolution on my monitor ain't great, but I think those are clone troops we saw marching onto that big ship.

Oh yeah. That makes more sense.
Those aren't droid troops marching onto that ship, they're clone troops.

That was Jango Fett, not Boba you saw, and I saw Monsters Inc not knowing the trailer was there. Kind of disapointing. All you see are some virtually still images and Vader's breathing. I think it's on the TPM DVD which I have but I haven't bothered looking.
I agree on the troopers looking like clones, although the Orginial Trilogy has alot of clonish troopers as well. Hmm maybe they are desecendents of clones or something.

That's why its called a *teaser*. I haven't found it on TPM -- tell me where. Personally, I liked it better then "The Phantom Menace" trailer -- gives away much less, yay!

Although you have stumbled on one of the most popular fan theories around at the moment, I should point out that you never see a Stormtrooper without his helmet at any point in the original trilogy, so what do you mean by "clonish"?

Er, where did my clever reply go? Where? WHERE?!

Actually ... in "Return of the Jedi", the Scout Trooper whose captured by the Rebels at the bunker? I'm fairly certain you can see him in his skivvies after another Rebel dresses up in his armor.

Don't shoot me, Snay...

I've seen that trooper before. I always thought that was the rebel dressed up in that suit, and he didn't have time to finish putting it all on before he was captured.
Or, they made him take off his helmet after saying "That you, Bob?"

Not that scene ... I thought there was another scene ... maybe not ...

Posted by Veers (Member # 661) on :

The scene with the huge shot of all the rebel troops standing around at gunpoint?

Posted by Malnurtured Snay (Member # 411) on :

No, I know which one you mean -- I didn't notice the Rebel trooper in the Scout Trooper until I saw the ROTJ:SE on the big screen.

I could've sworn there was a scene, a bit earlier, when Solo & Co. first break into the bunker, where you see the undressed Trooper at gunpoint in the background.

I'm not positive it is there but I do remember there was a distinct impression in a story I read that said it was included on the TPM DVD. I'll go look up the article when I get the chance. I don't have it here.

Posted by Veers (Member # 661) on :

Yeah, Snay. It's right after they capture the trooper and the door screeches open, you can see on the far left outside a scout trooper backing up with his hands raised.

Posted by Malnurtured Snay (Member # 411) on :

Is he in his skivvies?

'Cuz I also remember -- I need to pull out my tape -- that the Rebel in the Scout Trooper uniform is with his back to Solo, guarding the entry.

TLE,

There's some sort of "preview" of episode II which you can access using TPM DVD if you've got a DVD-ROM and internet access.

As for an actual "Attack of the Clones" Trailer or Teaser preview ... no.

Not that I've found, anyway. I wouldn't be too surprised if it was there as an "easter egg" or something ... but not that I've found.

In case no one here has noticed yet, there is now a second, longer trailer w/ sound at the same link Mark posted.

Oh ... WOW!

Posted by Dukhat (Member # 341) on :

Yes, I thought you'd think that.

1) Was that Obi-Wan Kenobi with a beard?

2) Who and who were fighting with Lightsabres?

Posted by Malnurtured Snay (Member # 411) on :

a) Yes, Ewan's got a beard.

b) Anakin was one of 'em. Don't know the other.

The other was Mace... oops is that a spoiler?

Hmm. I've read some rumours that Mace Windu turns bad (or was bad all along); question is, how major a plot point can it be if they feature it in the bloody teaser trailer? Of course, trailers often feature material not used in the final cut, maybe they'd even film such a shot for a joke, to mess with the heads of the fans who'll deconstruct the trailer frame by frame - 'course, such a move requires a sense of humour that is far beyond anything Lucas is apparently now capable of.

For all we know, it's just a Jedi sparring match.

FOLLOW ON POTENTIAL SPOILERS

I've read similar rumours. I also had the same thought long before I heard about them. The logic went something like this.

1/ There's probably a traitor on the Jedi council

2/ It's probably someone we already know.

3/ Samuel L Jackson did bugger all in Episode 1

4/ He's a bad mother fucker.

= Mace is a Monkey!

So, what will be worse? If Lucus does the obvious thing? Or if he does the stupidly different thing.

Star Wars trailers have lied before. The Episode 1 trailer made the film look good, for instance.
