Hi everyone - I just noticed that a scattering of files on my computer when viewed through Windows Explorer are now coloured blue. This happened on my old computer and I didn't know what it was - and I still don't... can anyone shed some light on this... phenomenon!?!
Thanks,
Andrew

They're compressed by the OS to save disk space. If I remember Windows correctly there's an option to turn off compression of files...but you have to decompress the files already compressed individually, by right-clicking and going to Properties. If you *want* to decompress them, that is; there is a bit of an increase in available disk space, but its offset by longer file-access times. However those files that are compressed are supposed to be files that are hardly ever accessed.
Hope this helps.

Thanks! So it is a reversible thing. Good.
