I was on startrek.com and saw the following information:
Jimmy Doohan is only doing one more show and it is a tribute to him. I guess the entire remaining cast members will be there as well. It will be the last time to see TOS actors on stage.
The link to read about it is: www.planetxpo.com

Well, except it only says that it will be the last time to see JIMMY DOOHAN on stage. And, honestly, its impossible to see the entire TOS cast on stage anymore anyways - Deforest Kelley died a few years ago, and Mr. Doohan is probably going to be following him soon.

And that's assuming it isn't all some cynical marketing ploy, to be followed in a few years by the "they're back!" convention. Kinda the way Celine Dion has had three or four 'last albums' in the past few years.

Doohan's been in poor health for the last couple of years, so yes, I'd imagine that this is his last appearance.

His poor health hasn't stopped him from fathering a child at that age!

Maybe they can just put him in a shuttlecraft that doesn't have WARP power to go to some retirement village. Relativistic effects will allow him to live longer relative to us.

I was reading in Maxim I think or Stuff and his son is working on a campaign to raise donations for him to get a star on the walk of fame or whatever is they call it. Im guessing he is the only Star Trek actor who doesnt have one.

Just cast Celine Dion as McCoy and solve both problems at once.

He is the only one of the TOS cast without one, yes and while I hardly think his performances are up there with Good-great actors like Bogart or Redford and all the other legends with a star, I also know that Lassie the dog has one so why the fuck not scotty?

1st I didn't know ANY of the Trek actors had stars at Ghurmann's Chinese Theatre.
2nd Why doesn't Jimmy Doohan have one!?!
3rd Does everyone who has one there had people pay to have it there - what is the 'fundrasing' for? How'd all the others get one?
4th Is it true that they 'paveover' some of the older lesser known stars that are there?

1) Grauman's Chinese Theater =/= Hollywood Walk of Fame. The latter goes by in front of the former, but they are separate entities. The Walk of Fame covers a lot more sidewalk than just in front of the theater. So far as I know, the entire TOS cast has been immortalised in cement at the Chinese.
2/3) One has to be sponsored onto the Walk. And also pay for the star. William Campbell's friends and fans are fundraising for his star now. Costs a couple grand.
4) They occasionally retire old panels, but they aren't destroyed, just removed.

Thanks. So theoretically you could do a star for like second tactical officer in "Shades of Grey" [TNG] or something - if you had enough money?

Not sure what the other criteria are off the top of my head. Check the web site.
