I find the second pic most fascinating.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what is depicted in that picture. The construction or destruction of Dyson sphere-esque things, only around planets. Sort of.

Yeah I thought "Dyson Sphere" when I saw it too. Also one of those metal constructs is firing blue beams down on the planet closest to the foreground.

It looks to be a partially completed (or partially destroyed) Astropolis (Arthur C. Clarke's 3001). Though I can't make out any definite skyhooks and what looks like tethers seams to be a series of tractor emitter towers...depending on how you interpret the artwork.

My first thought was that the beams were transferring power, but tractor emitters seem more likely.
Not sure what all the rest of the debris is about, but it's nice to see they're being adventurous with new(ish) ideas.

Did anyone else see this one: http://www.startrekonline.com/gallery/images/STOAD407.jpg quote: New Recruitment Ad Featuring Original Concept Art APRIL 27, 2007 - Perpetual Entertainment is running a full page ad in Game Developer Magazine this month. The ad, which is aimed at recruiting fresh new talent to join the STO team, features a previously unreleased concept image showing Starfleet Academy, located in Horseshoe Bay, just north of San Francisco.
I happened to miss seeing this one before. Of course, the thing I'm most interested in is the shuttle in that picture.

It looks like the Delta Flyer.
