Originally posted by targetemployee: [QB] DEV There might have been a DEV something in "Whispers". There was a LTA Elmira, SS Oregon, and WEB Dubois in that episode. VK Velikan What is a Velikan? DEV Eagle Valley I like this name. Very descriptive. According to the Star Trek Timeline, the last class of the DY series is DY 750. This is disproven by the canonical evidence of a DY 950. SS Hatteras Is this ship named after Cape Hatteras? SS Hokule'a Interesting. A Starfleet starship and a Terran spaceship share the same name. VK Yuri Gagarin Second mention of Gagarin in the second season. SS Tomobiki RT-2203. I believe this is a class designation. The only time I have seen a two letter registry is that of the TR-47 from FIRST CONTACT. TR-47 is a lifepod. SS Seattle NAR-18834. Shares similar registry with SS Vico. Possible hypothesis-UFP adopted the NAR registry for civilian ships and registries were reused. This can be used as evidence that registries are recycled. HMS Lord Nelson DY-500-B. This class of DY ships seemed to be very popular and inspired at least three variants. Also, the HMS may reflect that the United Kingdom had spaceships registered in this time period. SS Mariposa HMS New Zealand SS Buckaroo Banzai BBI-993. Could be a registry or class designation. Based on the description, I will accept this as a class. SS Urusei Yatsura The Star Trek: The Next Generation companion lists three of these ships. SS Buckaroo Banzai is a reference to a forgotten sci-fi film of the mid-1980's and SS Urusei Yatsura and SS Tomobiki are references to Japanese cinema-anime. [/QB]
