It would explain... (1) The [i]Enterprise[/i]-A getting a gunmetal-gray "military" refit from its earlier beige "peaceful exploration" look. (2) The crew feeling extremely uncomfortable with Klingons aboard the ship in [i]Undiscovered Country[/i] after sharing a lighthearted celebration with them in [i]Final Frontier[/i]. (3) The Empire launching the I.K.S. [i]T'Ong[/i], described in "The Emissary" as during a period of war. [/QB][/QUOTE]
