dont draw directly on the CPU. the circuitry is terribly delicate.
Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, etc are all good drafting programs that cost $$$. CorelDraw and PhotoShop and Paint Shop Pro and many others come to mind for more graphical work
look around online, see if you can find a demo or shareware program that you like. (or maybe pirate something.. no, wait.. thats illegal)

If you want something that's to Paint Shop Pro what Paint Shop Pro is to Photoshop (er, I think that works), you could try the GIMP. It's completely free, and pretty powerful. And someone's ported it to Windows, so you don't have to have Linux any more either.
